| Itchy Mocha Hi everyone, my Yorkie has a cottony coat, and she tends to always itch (not sure if this makes a difference about her coat). Her favorite places to scratch is her ears and behind her front legs. She also does this weird thing where she will jump on the bed and rub her face like she is digging into the sheets like she has an itch she can't reach with her paws. Sometimes she even rubs against furniture and the walls like a cat. She's being doing this for months, and she doesn't have any ticks or fleas. I never thought of the idea she could have allergies until my mother mentioned it. Living at the beach in Mexico it is warm, but this time of the year it is comfortable and not hot. We live in a city so there is not much grass. I have even changed her food, but this doesn't help her itching. She doesn't have a rash from her itching either. Is it just my Yorkie, or is this normal? |

| It sounds like a possible allergic reaction possibly to the food. Buster was scratching so I went to a Nutritionist here is my post about that visit and his recommendations. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...endations.html

YT 2000 Club Member | We are having similar issues here! Have you had her ears checked for an infection or yeast? Yeast will make them itchy if there is an over abundance in their body. It could be the food or something she comes in contact with, like grass, pollen, etc. I am trying to eliminate possible allergens. So far, I have Teeka on a grain free food, coconut oil and have washed all her clothes, bedding and our blankest, etc. in hypoallergenic, scent and color free detergent. Oatmeal baths might help, too. My next step is an examine by my vet in a couple of weeks. Good Luck!
