| Well the other shoe has dropped I've been waiting for this. Bentley has been too good to be true since day one. He's now going through a restless stage. He's still good in general. He just won't stay engaged in anything. He'll play for 2 seconds, get board and look for something else to move onto. When he gets like this I can't cuddle him because obviously he's got too much energy, but can't get him to focus on a toy to play with for an extended period. 13 weeks today and has been like this since last Saturday. I'm ready to fall over. lol Felt really bad last night. He was in his kennel all day while I was at work. I get home, quickly eat dinner and then begin cleaning up and playing with him. He was just non stop, one place and the next. With the exception of grooming time I literally got to sit no longer than 5 minutes at one time. At 9pm I was exhausted and my feet were killing me. I pulled out his bed kennel and said I'm sorry baby but it's bedtime. Guess it's time to work on what my boyfriend who used to breed and do early drive training of police dogs refers to as ball drive. lol I miss the early days of him playing with a toy till he would fall over.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Ah the puppy stages! When KS was that litte there were times she would play what seemed like forever. But she was really good to keep herself entertained while I did something else. I tell you something that keeps her busy for a long time and that's those interactive toys. Like these: Martha Stewart Pets™ Chicken Coop - Dog - Boutique - PetSmart ToyShoppe® Hide A Squirrel Dog Toy - Toys - Dog - PetSmart Plush Puppies Hide a Bee Dog Toy - Toys - Dog - PetSmart Even after she digs all 3 out, I can walk over, hide them back and she's raring to go again.

| Pups from 6 to 12 or 13 weeks are really in an infant stage. They sleep more and pee more than anything else. At the age you pup is now he is just starting to wake up to the big world around him. Being that he is alone in a crate all day he needs tons of exercise when you get home. He has had to sleep all night and most of the day except when he was barking his head off. Getting him to learn to walk on a leash would be the best thing for both of you. Take him for a good long walk and then teach him to play fetch in order to run off some energy before he has to go back into the crate. These tend to be little dogs but they have tons of energy. When it is pent up like that they are going to act wild. |

Don't get me wrong he does not go wild, it's just he spends all evenings playing "what's this, where does this lead to." lol I told my girls I think I'm taking him to the grand human's house to play with their cat to wear him out. The two of them playing is hysterical.

We have one of those, it's a hut with a banana and 2 monkeys. He's more interested in the hut. lol It also make a great sleeping buddy. Check out my picture in this thread. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...-back-lol.html He's a silly little guy.

A kitten is a great distraction for them! Gracie grew up thinking she was made to herd cats! Yeah, it will be great when spring gets here and we can do more things outside again. | |

I work and the kids are at school so he has a play yard attached to his kennel. It's not a kennel, it's fricken South Fork(or maybe Wonderland if I can find a doggy amusement park to go in it). Yes, he's a spoiled momma's boy. LOL So he has plenty of room to romp and play while we are away. Also, I image our grumpy cat sitting on the outside of it saying "nanny nanny poo poo you can't chase me." He has a kitty sister, but she's grumpy and set in her ways. Tolerates him at best. That's why he loves his "kitty aunt" at my parents house, she loves to play. But my dad love that cat more than me and I'm his pride and joy, so a trade is not possible. lmao

| We are facing the same challenge with Princess Sophie and when she gets the "crazies", if you don't have something in your hand that you can stick in her mouth, your fingers become fair game. I've also noticed that she's biting harder than she did when she first came to be in our family. I would love to begin leash and walking training but "the weather outside is frightful" right now.We are trying all we can to read her body language in order to anticipate these moods but it's certainly a challenge. Best wishes on your training!!

| Ok, I'm going to check my computer history and you need to do the same. Sounds like a conspiracy here to me. lol I think the two of them have been chatting on line to figure out ways to drive us nuts. lol
