Unhappy I am going crazy

OKAY
I have read every thread concerning potty training, gone to potty training classes, read 4 books on it now, asked 2 vets and LEXI IS STILL POTTYING ON MY FLOOR>>>UHHHHHHH. She is going to be 11 months old the last week of december and still is not potty trained. I am going crazy here, some days she gets it others we have three or four accidents. Like today, she went on the potty pad three times today but then had 2 accidents, what am i doing wronge. Is there a boarding school for potty training? if so i would seriously consider it. I know she is smart, and i love her to death but i am so fed up with stepping in pee. Can someone help me?

I trained my dog in the first week I got him, he was pretty good actually. He still takes dumps off the mat 40% of the time, but always pees. I just confined him in an area after he ate so he knew to pee in that area after food, and eventually he goes there all the time. When I move the area he gets confused and "potties" everywhere.

11 months!? That's sorta late ot get the dog potty trained. You can always teach him to go outside on a daily time basis.

A lot of yorkies take over a year, and still have accidents even after that. It doesn't matter how old they are, yorkies are willing to please.

Good luck potty training! We share your pain!

I have never had any success in pad training any of my dogs. I once had a mini poodle who would pick a place to go (on the floor) and so I would put papers there (this was YEARS ago, no pads, or at least I didn't know about them). I would move the papers from place to place - wherever she decided to go. She would use the papers for a few days, then pick a new spot and I'd move the papers again. This went on for months. The moving the papers was in response to NOT being able to get her to go where I wanted her to go. Finally, we moved out of our apartment and into a house with a fenced yard. It only took her a couple of days to be potty trained to the outside.

I also tried to pad train Rowdy - didn't work - maybe it's me!!! Anyway, it was relatively easy (just a few weeks) to train him to go outside. We took him out every 30-45 minutes and said "go potty" (about a thousand times) and eventually he got it. He really got it when we got a doggie door and he could go out by himself. He rarely had an accident after we got the doggie door.

If it makes you feel any better, I am going nuts too! Tiah is my only consistent Yorkie (and if I take the pups outside without her she will intentionally pee on the floor). My other pups are getting older also and are not perfectly trained. They like to pee outside and poop on the floor. I can't remember when Tiah stopped having accidents, but it will probably happen for you when she gets a little older. She is one gorgeous Yorkie, that is FOR SURE!!!

I wonder...my husband is in the military and we have moved 4 count them 4 times this year so I wonder if we messed her up bc of that. When we first got her in Washington in April she was perfect no accidents at all then when it came time to move and the movers came to pack us up she started having accidients. Ever since...three moves later we are still having accidents. She will go on the potty pad three times a day which is good but we always have that one miss in the day sometime two misses. It just frustrates me that she knows to go to the potty pad all the other times y can't she just make it a constant thing? Thanks for all the words of encouragment. I was so mad at her last night i told my husband we are going to start putting diepers on her, he laughed. She is not teathered to my waiste by a peice of yarn. I am watching her like a hawk today, she has about 8-10 ft of space away from me but this way she can't go sneak and pee somewhere. Someone suggested this method to me, hope it works.

First, I have to disagree that 11 months is late to housebreak a dog. Look at the poll that some genius (that would be me - ha! ha!) posted:
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25028
Although the sample size is small, you'll see that about 35% of our Yorkies were either housetrained at that age or older OR they still aren't housebroken at that age or more.

So, don't give up! You are not alone.

A little more information would be helpful. Would you tell us how you react when Lexi 1) potties on the floor and 2) potties on the pee pads?

Also, for curiosity, how big is Lexi? And, when you talked to the vets, did they check for a UTI (urinary tract infection)?
