YT 2000 Club Member | "Look Mom, no more.... itching"! Jasmine feels great now she isn't itching all the time. Also her coat, that had taken a beating due to this ongoing dilemma, is starting to grow back out healthy, thick and shiny. Jasmine is Mommy's happy baby girl again.

YT 2000 Club Member | We used coconut oil. But, first we went to vet tried the different shampoos he suggested, the steroids, changed her diet, used good conditioners, etc., without any results. Then we tried the coconut oil. It has worked great for Jasmine. I have heard some have great results and some no results.

YT 2000 Club Member | Oh, and thank you for your kind comment. She is 4 years old and is the reason I love the yorkie breed so much. She is a spit fire! We also have Maggie Mae, 10 mo. old yorkie and Prissy, an 11 yr old toy poodle.

| Amazing story. Unremitting pain and constant, violently intense itching are both such terrible situations for any dog to have to live with and itching is maybe a little worse as it isn't usually as easily treated as pain is. With pain, it's usually fix the condition and/or give pain medicine. But with itching and a miserable dog, sometimes it seems to take years to find an answer. I am also interested in how you isolated her turnaround to coconut oil. And so happy for both of you. Great, great outcome!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's wonderful!! I may have to try that on Cali and get her weaned off her Atopica if it works. I have her down to Atopica every 3-4 days so it's not too bad. I would prefer to have her maintained on a natural remedy like the coconut oil. Jasmine is a real cutie.

YT 2000 Club Member | Sorry it took me awhile to get back to this post. My daughter is getting married in six months so I have busy with her today. Anywhoooo....how we determined it was the coconut oil that worked is bc we tried the vet recommended shampoos, conditioners, steroid shots, antibiotics, change of diet, no treats and this went on for quite some time without any results. The itching continued and she was miserable. Before she started itching and breaking out, she had a pretty, shiny, healthy coat that had to be cut off bc of her condition. After going through all of this for over a year and keeping her hair very short we tried the coconut oil and she stopped itching and the sores went away.
