| ca yorkie breeders Has anyone used the website Californiayorkiebreeders ? Looking for reputable breeders in ca and found this site. They have a "code of ethics" but some statements don't seem right. I'm wondering if they're just a broker. |

| Hi there! I see many, many red flags. Clearly a broker and they have 8 week old puppies listed for take home now, code of ethics says their breeders agree not to sell pups until they are 8 weeks, or in some cases 10. Either way, far too young, it should be 12. The registries listed with most of the yorkie pups are not reputable (look for AKC). Have you checked the YTCA for breeders in CA? |

| Sounds like a broker to me. Yorkies puppies should not go home until 12 weeks period. You should look at YTCA.org

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Remember that a reputable breeder does not sell her pups to a third party to place in someone’s home. A reputable breeder cares about where her dogs are going and will insist on meeting you. If the breeder will ship you the dogs without meeting you, she's just another backyard breeder. That are many reasons for choosing a reputable breeder, you are more likely to get a healthy dog and this can be a HUGE cost saver over time, and you will be less likely to write a thread, "Is my dog a Yorkie?" Best of luck, I too recommend the YTCA website.

| I did look up breeders at the ytca website and even found one near my home. As for the other site to be honest I didn't go very far into the page to know whether or not you can meet the owner/breeder. When they said to adopt the puppy at 8 weeks it made me wary. When reading further it seems like an on line pet store, and you can't even pet the puppy first. After fostering puppy mill dogs there is no way I could ever adopt without meeting the breeer. I'm just looking for a breeder for when I get a new puppy in a year or two. I do know some local breeders but they "specialize" in teacups. |
