| Questions regarding new puppy I finally figured out (hopefully) how to post a picture from iPhone! Now I am curious if anyone's Yorkies started out with shorter hair? Baxters siblings all had longer curlier coats. His mother & father both had longer coats. When I went to pick out a puppy he was not what I had envisioned that I wanted, but I feel in love with him & went with my heart. I can see longer hairs sticking out on him where he should have longer hair. Like on top of his head, under his chin, & on his paws. Just curious if he will ever grow out & look like most Yorkies. It does not matter to me, as I already adore him & never plan to breed him. I will admit there is a part of me that hopes he will eventually look like a Yorkie is supposed to. If anyone wants you can see his picture & tell me what you think. I would also love to see anyone's adult Yorkies pictures that might have looked like my little Baxter as a pup. Baxter is 10 weeks old in the picture. He is very small, probably 1.5 pounds. |

| Your pup is very cute. If he is full yorkie , I dont see s hy he wouldn't have longer hair either cottony, silky or a combination later on. However, he looks like he's mixed to me. Maybe not his parents since you saw both, but somewhere in the line. Id love to see how he grows and what he looks like as an adult.

| Also, on your other thread, someone mentioned the possibility of a throwback to a previous generation that might have had another breed mingled in. I'm sure that is possible even with AKC registration, just as the occasional human throwback to another race is possible. Is DNA testing something that is feasable or even something that you might be interested in? My curiosity is aroused!

| Was there another post like this or has my comment disapeered? If it didnt go through, what I said was,I think he´s totally adorable, but not a full yorkie I had a yorkie called Jess for 6 years and all the time we had her I had doubts and worries about her, because from the start her coat was all wrong and her snout was really long etc.We went back and forth to the breeder and she kept saying her hair would grow and that she´d grow into her nose, but she NEVER did and her coat stayed just an inch long even into adulthood. Turns out there was a dachshund somewhere back in her linage and her breeder and tried to "breed it out",which never worked.Although alot of her pups were fine, alot also had traits that were just off,and no amount of breeding made those traits disapeer. We ended up taking the breeder to court after 6 years and we actually got more than half of ou money back, because we werent the only people who she sold a puppy like that too, with paperwork and all. As I said,I think he´s ADORABLE,but I seriously doubt he is a full yorkie and that his hair will ever be long, especially on his face/head where it is VERY short already..something that is never seen in an 11 week old yorkie The tufts of long hair here and there and the very short hair on the face makes it very obvious. Have you paid the price for a full breed yorkie? If so,I´d be asking for DNA testing or some way of getting half of your money back. After having the exact same thing happen to me,I really get angry when I see it happen to someone else, because alot of people this happens to end up getting rid of their dog and they end up in shelters. You should get what you paid and asked for, nothing less

| Oh,btw,we LOVED Jess to bits,it didnt matter to us that she was a mix at all once we had her and fell in love with her But we did want to stop her breeder charging rediculous prices for pups that were obviously not purebred. That is fraud. A reputable breeder has nothing to hide and a good reputation to protect,so things like this shouldent happen
