| If you want to just trim a little around the eyes it is fairly simple. Just get a small pair of round tipped scissors. Your best bet is to do this when your pup is pretty sleepy. Hold the chin hair gently with one hand and trim with your scissors. Hold the chin hair firmly enough to keep his head from moving from side to side. Doing this kind of thing helps prepare your puppy for the big trip to the groomer. You don't want a totally freaked out puppy at the grooming parlor. If you do your grooming in small amounts at home your pup will be much easier for the groomer to handle and it will help prevent accidental injuries when he does go. Gracie goes to the groomer about every 3 months. I do weekly bathes and trim her feet and other areas that may need help in between visits. |

| I've got a little conairpet handheld clipper that I use around the eyes. I am able to get those hairs that get tear stains and those hairs at the inner eye without difficulty. He must hold still, though. You don't want to use an electric clipper around the eyes if the pup is freaking out and trying to get away.
