| Switching dog food....a few questions. So I know there's a mill threads on here about dog food but, I can't seem to find one that helps with my questions. Sebi just recently turned one and I want to switch him from puppy food to adult food so I thought I would also go ahead and switch him from Bil-Jac to Blue Buffalo. I'm not sure which type of BB I should choose. Could you please advise me on which would be best? He's 3lbs now and doesn't have any health issues. Also, I'd like to add some wet food in his diet..just because he goes crazyyy for it and I'm sure it has to get so boring eating dry food constantly. When I get home in the afternoons he seems to be ready to eat and gets so excited when he smells food cooking in the kitchen but, when I pour him his food he just sniffs and walks away. IF I do add a wet food...how often should he have it? Daily or only weekly? Once a day, twice a day? I'm really not sure. Another thing is dog treats....I've bought at least 4 diff brands of treats and he does not like any of them. I'm having to potty train him all over again since his surgery so I really want to be able to treat him when he goes potty where he should. Any ideas? |

| there is bil jac adult versions also small breed adult. i fed this but with keylo needed puppy food and not wanting to eat her food even when i tried everything i have been slowly switching them to evo which is all stages.....they love it so far and now theres no seperation needed. i put a small amount of new wet and hard kibble in with small amount of old wet and kibble and mix together. they get it twice a day 7 am and 5 pm. mine get very bored so i alternate mixing in the wet sometimes and just give dry or warm water with hard kibble just to mix it up. sometimes well put some green beans or peas in mixed or plain boiled chicken cut up real real tiny. to give them some variety. what kind of treats?? bil jac has some good training treats and wellness. mine usually stick to bullys....but i did get freezy pups from a groupon deal and they love to have one after dinner.

| I had planned on switching to the adult version of bil jac but reading all the reviews on it.. people are not so fond of it and since Sebi seems so uninterested in it I decided to just switch...plus I really want to give him something healthier and BB came highly recommended. I got him the bil jac training treats..he won't have anything to do with them lol I can't think of the others off the top of my head but, they are all similar..they are kind of soft and round. I'm deff going to try out the green beans and boiled chicken...give him a little variety |

| have you tried carrots as a reward? maybe hes not into treats. wellnes has a beef treat mine flip for. i have to break it into smaller bite peices but they love them. 9.99 a bag so i make them last as long as possible. ive stopped buying treats cause mine are so picky it wastes my money. i know they will eat the wellness so thats what they get!

| Can't help you with the Blue Buffalo. I do recommend the freeze dried meat treats that are available for dogs. They have only one ingredient and are usually made with grass fed, non injected meat sources. Very healthy, low in calories. Read the ingredient lists on most of the treats available in stores and you will see why your dog does not like them. He must be pretty smart. |

| Bil Jac has BHA: BHA... a Time Bomb in Dog Food? It all comes down to how your dog does on the food, but I personally would stay away from anything w/ BHA in it.
