| Is there a certain age my Yorkie has to be to microchip? I'm new to all this and I was curious at what age can I get Button microchipped? She's 9 weeks old tomorrow (1/6/13) Thanks in advance!

| You can have him chipped at anytime. The sooner, the better in my book. Most get them done at spay/neuter time if it wasn't already done by the breeder. But if Button still needs a round of shots, may as well get it done then IMO.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | All my Pups get chipped at 12 weeks, before they go home. I feel 12 weeks is a great age to get them chipped. hugs, |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Like everyone said, you can get them chipped at most any time =) It probably would be more convenient to have the micro-chipping done while you're already at the vet for shots or spaying/neutering. Probably the sooner the better, though. If she gets lost, or heaven forbid stolen, being micro-chipped might be the only thing that gets her back home. Congrats on the puppy! ^-^ |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I had Joey microchipped when he was neutered; although so many say it doesn’t hurt, I didn’t want to take the chance that he’d flinch.

| I had Gracie chipped when she was spayed. She was a skinny little thing and I could feel the chip under her skin. She has since put on some weight so I don't feel it anymore. I don't think I would do it before 12 weeks of age. If you are having escape problems then you may want to get a cat collar with an ID tag until you can get him chipped. |
