| positive reinforcement backfired! I tried to train Huey using positive reinforcemen; for example, he gets panties out of the laundry hamper. Instead of yelling at him and trying to retrieve then, I did as Victoria Stillwell said & traded for them. Over the years, this has snowballed into "hmmm, I want a treat, lets get into something". Now, Huey will get something he isn't supposed to have so he can get a treat in return. BACKFIRE!!! He is so savvy about it, if you don't notice he has something, he will make it obvious, like tossing a dime into the air & letting it clatter onto the hardwood, looking at you to see if you noticed, then trade for treat or repeat process until treat has been received. What a little schemer!!! Anyone else run into this?

| Haha! Oh yes... it has happened here too! Try other ways for him to get treats, like some trick training, that way maybe he'll come and 'sit' in front of you for a treat instead of raiding the laundry basket.

| Haha to funny yorkies are smart little ones. Callie used to pretend to go pee for a treat when she was a puppy. And now if you have a treat she thinks if she gives you a high five she gets the treat so when I pull a treat out she starts high fiving the air lol.

| My Milo does the same thing. He gets my panties out of the hamper while I am in the shower and brings them to show me that he has them. Then he takes off. Then he comes back when I am out of the shower to try to get me to chase him and get him a treat. I need a hamper without holes for our socks and underwear.

| They are very wise indeed. It seems repetition is your worst enemy. |
