| Sounds just like Joels hair. I tried different stuff but now I mostly keep it short, he matts easily. Once in a while I try to grow it out like I am now, but when it gets about 2 1/2 inches it gets really bad then I cut it I really wish I could keep it longer but it's not practical |

Also important is to condition the coat after the wash/shampoo. Leave it to set in for 3-5 minutes then rinse out with warm water. I wrap mine in a towel if they get chilly while waiting for the rinse. Also you can do an intensive oil treatment a day or so before a bath, or even a few hours before the bath.

| Since Columbo HATES to be brushed, combed & groomed, I've settled on a short haircut for his body from the neck down, and a longer haired, yorkie looking head. I keep it really short in the summer when it's hot and humid here. In winter, I let it grow to maybe 1 1/2" for extra warmth. Like Joel, Columbo's hair starts matting as it grows longer than that. If I trim him BEFORE the matting starts, it's much easier than waiting until we get to that point. |

| Do you use conditioner on her after shampooing? I noticed a HUGE difference in Blazer's coat when I started to use conditioner on him. I still keep his body hair on the shorter side and his head and face hair longer- but that is mostly because he is always out in the snow and when his hair was longer the snow would tangle in clumps. So he has short hair and sweaters. =)

| Jasmin is 7 months. We are taking her to the groomer tomorrow for a short cut. Also will be buying espress shampoo/conditioner. I only put coconut oil in her food twice a week. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how her hair grows out. Puppy hair is notoriously tough to comb. She ought to be growing an adult coat soon, and my guess is it will be much easier to manage.
