| Help in buying a winter coat that a harness will attach I just now is getting cold here in Illinois and I am a bad mommy cause Amy doesn't have a coat. The ones around here I have been looking at will not let her wear a harness cause there is no hole for the ring. I won't put a collar on her cause if we take her in the car she has a booster seat to sit in. Any ideas of online pet stores or boutiques that have coats for harness wearing babies? Thanks |

i bought this fleece suit for Oscar to wear when we go out in the winter. I bought a simple step in harness that is big enough to wear over the suit. it works out perfect , he can wear it to get hooked into his car seat and its good for walking as well... Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, I was going to offer the same advice as My Oscar. Get a harness big enough to put over the coat. You can have a summer harness and a winter harness so you're not always having to adjust the size. Although some nice coats do come with a hole in them to attach the leash to a harness under the coat, I find it a hassle. And sometimes the leash pulls on the coat and causes it to loosen or be uncomfortable. Good luck! And just a small piece of advice. When I buy coats, I think comfort for the dog. Anything too bulky or with hoods that restrict their movement tend to bug them and make walks no fun.

| I was frustrated this year while looking for a new coat for Gracie. So many that I liked did not have a slit for her harness D ring. We have a very slim silk step in harness that fits nicely under a coat but so many did not have the slit available. I did find this one on Wag . com and it seems to be a good one. It has not arrived yet so I can't say for sure. Gracie does not like hoods but the hood is removable so I hope it works. I think the price is reasonable if the material is good. | Katie has a coat with a built in harness. It is sold a lot of places, but amazon.com has it for the best price. She runs and plays in the coat, and it keeps her warm. Her stomach is also protected in this coat. Pawz Dog Boots 1Z Dog Coat - Waterproof with Built-In Harness

| Do you have a friend/relative who sews and has a buttonhole function on their machine? Or a local tailor? All the slit in most outfits is is a buttonhole. |

| Here is another one I considered. I have seen it on other dog supply sites. It has the D ring on it. I don't know how much I trust a sewn on D ring. Winter "Ruffin It" Pink Dog Parka Vest Doggie Design Pet Clothing | eBay |

| Most of the time I just put Callie's harness over the coat. The buddy belt is so easy to adjust that is very easy to do that. Sometimes you also have to make the hole yourself. I also have a jacket from petco that has hooks on the back as well as the zipper to attach the leash too that works as a harness. I was looking at petco and petsmart and saw a few of them.

| I bought a very nice jacket for my baby at my local Petco. It's very warm and has a small hole for the leash. Check out your local Petco store! |

| I can recommend the Sierra coat by Teckelklub. It's impeccably well made, has a covered leash opening, waterproof, and has silver reflective piping. It's super easy to get on and off. I also own the Fuzzie. You can layer the Fuzzie under the Sierra for extra warmth. See: https://teckelklub.com/dog-apparel
