| Grooming Questions...HELPPPP!! I have found out that my puppy will be 9 weeks at beginning of January and that it'd b a good idea to wait a few more weeks since he should be with his mom for a while. In buying everything now. As far as grooming, what do I need? What shampoo/conditioner do you use? What kind of brush works nice? Does PediPawd work well or should I get other nail clippers? HELP YT PLZZZZ!! |

| Everyone has their preferences on shampoos and conditioners. I haven't found the one I'm "set" on yet. I'm still trying different ones. Yorkie Splash & Shine or Isle of Dog seem to be favorites around the forum. Madan pin brushes and combs are excellent. I also just ordered a wooden pin brush (waiting for it to come in the mail) to try. Go down to the Grooming subforum here and browse thru the threads...you'll get lots of ideas. For nails, some use cat clippers. I just let my vet do it (since I don't have a groomer). I've always done my dogs' nails but Yorkies have black nails and it scares me to even try lol

| We like the Madan brush and comb. I use many grooming products but recommend Yorkie Splash and Shine. Get the Yorkie Sheen detangler too. It is great! I would also get a facial scrub, Spa Blueberry or Kissy Face is good. Oh and get a toothbrush. . I don't dare cut my girls nail. I'm too much of a chicken. I let the groomer or vet the care of their nails.

| I use the small Madan brush and a 6" metal comb for the body and a 4.5" comb for legs and face. Got them from: toplinepet.com They work great. I always reccommend using all natural products on the Yorkie coat. They have hair and not fur like most dogs. It grows just like human hair so you need to keep the skin and coat in good condition. If you use sulfates on the hair it could dry out the skin. If the hair falls out it does not grow back as well as most dogs fur will. |

| We have a Madan pin brush and love it. I really like Minksheen for shampoo, but am trying to find something that is sold locally. I would also suggest getting a flea comb to brush out the face hair. I use mine when I bathe them and it works well to comb out the eye boogers.
