YorkieTalk Newbie! | Please help me! Hi, I am Jakson - a 6.8lb young boy - 1 and a half years old to be exact. I recently took my second airplane flight with my family from Florida to New York. I have to admit, I was pretty scared when I heard those engines fire up. I whined a little until we got going. Mom and grammy gave me some treats and pet me so I calmed down and was pretty relaxed until the landing when I got scared again. I cried. The stewardesses said they didn't care and stuffed me under the seat. "Let him cry" they said. Well apparently some people complained about me and I am not allowed to fly with my family anymore. I am very worried because we are only here until Januray. How will I get back to Florida? Can someone help me?? Love, Jakson |

I can't believe they won't let you fly again! Have those stewardesses not heard the racket lil kids make with their crying on planes? Not much different than a crying pup. What airline did you fly with? I'd definately book with a different one for your return trip home in January.

| UGH, this is one of the reasons why I hate Southwest... I'm sorry Jakson. I hope that they'll refund your family and you can find another flight home.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | We would love to fly a different airline. Problem is we can't be traveling into the city all the time. Also, our flight back to Florida is already booked for January on Southwest. It's not like I had a free flight either like the babies that fly that can just sit on your lap. |

| This is suprising....Southwest is a pretty pet-friendly airline. I'd contact them about having the ban lifted on your account.

| Sorry about your problem. If the airline is telling you "You can't fly with your dog" they must refund your money. Four years ago my son and I flew to FL "Disney" on the ride down my son's ears hurt so bad that I decided to rent a car for the drive home. I had purchased round trip tickets but it really didn't matter he couldn't fly. The airline was wonderful and did refund part of my money .... they really didn't have to because it was my choice not to fly. But in your case they really have to refund some money to you. They are telling you that you can't fly with them. |

| I am so sorry Jackson. I cry too when I fly....no one has ever told me I couldnt fly with them any more!!! I think they are discriminating against you! Have your momma contact the district headquarters for Southwest Airlines....they have always been very pet friendly.....I would complain to them.....this has got to be able to be rectified somehow! I would ask the powers that be, did they red flag your mommas account for every other dog that she may appear at the airport with, or just YOU?? I would make it very clear that your momma flies with several different dogs..... What is to stop your momma from re naming you .......Fred.....and getting on the airplane with "Fred" instead of "Jackson".....??? It is not like you are sneaking on board and stealing your place under the seat from the airline....you are a paying customer!! BUT, meantime, your momma has to really work on your fear of loud engines! Your momma is going to have to speak with the vet about getting something for your nerves when you fly....and I used to fly with a dog that did not do well with flying, and both she and I were medicated and it never hurt eiher of us!!!!.... |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I cannot believe they would not let him fly again! People can be so inconsiderate =( If your dog was quiet for the flight, but only was noisy during take off and landing ... I don't see the reason to ban him! I would go and talk to them about lifting the ban. If at all possible I would switch airlines .... I'm sorry about the inconvenience and hope that you can get this worked out! I wonder what would happen if a bunch of people called the airline to complain about the pet ban what they would do? I don't know if something like that would work, though. The airline might just get really annoyed Last edited by Clyde_Dexter; 12-14-2012 at 11:35 PM. |

| Why can't you just rent a car and drive back? |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Sometimes it would be nice to just forget about the airlines and drive back! I don't think I would be happy in the car that long though! Plus, tickets are booked and my Mommy doesn't have enough time to drive back since she has to get back once the college break ends. Hopefully we'll get it resolved though! |
