| New Post (yorkie Russell) Hey! I'm new and have been googling a lot lately, and each question I have this site has came up so I decided to join. :-) I recently received a jack Russell/ yorkie cross and was wondering if the other owners of this breed could give me some advice. Zoe is 9 weeks now and has a soft but low cut. I was wondering if her coat would grow like the other yorkie Russell's I have seen. I will try to attach a picture. She is just under 5 lbs now. She had a brown/black coat (yorkie side I have assumed) with white a white line on the back of her neck and under her belly. I was just wanting some info because I did want the long hair but if not I'll be fine with that too because she's cute and very sweet. Also, if there are any pictures available for this breed around Zoe's age I would love to see. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hi! Zoe looks like a sweetie. From the picture that you provided, however, it doesn't look like she will have long hair like a yorkie. In the picture her hair looks really smooth like the Jack Russell in her. Either way she is really cute! ^-^ |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! I agree with Clyde_Dexter, from the picture you posted, it looks like she will have a short coat. She's adorable!

| Hi and welcome to YT! What a cute cute little girl! As others have said, it appears she will have the jack russel short hair, but what a beautiful color.

| Hello and welcome. It is unlikely your pup will have long hair. Crosses like this are usually much different than each other because there is such a huge gene pool involved. Hope she makes a wonderful pet anyway. |

| Awww!!! Your pup is soooo cute! I'm glad you've posed a question about a cross as my little boy Tyson is a cross between a full Yorkie (his dad) and a Pekapom (half Pekinese and Half Pomaranian)(his mum)... he does err on the side of his Dad, with colouring, temperament and most definitely his looks.... again, like your question I've wondered if he will get the long coat too! Tyson is 10 weeks tomorrow and weighed in last week at the vets at 1.2kg, so I know he'll not be very big too! I love this site and have read fervently about the Yorkie breed and although mine is a cross I'm hoping we'll be accepted here too! Hehe!! Sue x |
