| Inherited Two Yorkies and New Here Hello I am in OHio and have inherited two yorkies that were my sisters. I got them a week ago. She unexpectedly passed away in an accident and well..the rest is history. I just had to pay for her funeral and a lot of it's related expenses. I have appointments set up for the two yorkies: Treble who is about 3 and Aria who is almost 2. I wasn't very close to my sister due to her lifestyle...but I am a dog lover, haven't lost my last dog 3 years ago. Anyway I was giving Aria a bath tonight and I believe she is pregnant. Now I have a vet appointment in two weeks BUT I don't drive[ epileptic] so I can't get there before then and my bank account and credit cards are maxed out. Found this forum looking for some answers I think she may be pregnant[ my sister loves to play backyard breeder which throughly was ONE of the many things I didn't agree with]. She only had these two dogs now that weren't nuetered. They were indoor only dogs[ yes they didn't GO OUTSIDE EVER---another issue] I am working on training them and such..but any idea how soon I can feel puppies move, cuz I think I am feeling it. The local vet is willing to do some pro bono appointments for me, but is on vacation for the next week. I have delivered puppies before[almost a decade ago and not small dogs but HUGE ONES] I have been doing reading and I know what a responsible person is, I just truly need some guidelines here. Thanks all |

| Well your sister was certainly a music lover, wasn't she? =) I'm so very sorry for your loss, even if you weren't close. Now to the pups, do you know anything about Aria's history? How many previous litters? Having experience is definately in your favor since her body "knows" what it's doing and has proven capable in the past. Yes, things could be different, but again, history plays in your favor here. Can you get the dogs' histories from their previous vet? Delivering small pups isn't really any different than delivering big ones, mostly just size! The breeder section will be able to offer you more help, though. I have only delivered one litter of 6. (The one my pup was born from.) Welcome to YT!

| I'm sorry for your loss. You truly are a beautiful soul for having taking over these two babies -especially since I am sure they are grieving as well. You certainly have found the best place for advice! Either in this section or the breeder section you will have loads of advice and help along the way

| Wow, it sounds like you are going through a lot right now. I am so sorry for your sister's passing I'm glad to hear that your vet is going to provide some of his services for free to you. I would get here there as soon as you can to get an ultrasound done. You need to know if she really is pregnant and if so, how far along and how many pups. It might even be safest to just do an emergency spay. I would talk to your vet about it. Thank you for taking these two poor souls in. They must be completely lost without their owner.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I am so sorry for your loss. Generally pups can be felt moving two weeks out from the due date. Is that what you mean? you can feel them moving? If not at thirty days a female can be palpitated and pups can be felt. An ultrasound can confirm an earlier pregnancy. Good luck
