| How to groom my little man? I finally can take Colby to get groomed but I am not sure what would be the best haircut for his fur type and I was hoping you guys would be able to help me! I've included some pictures of my little messy baby. |

| Sometimes it helps to look at and bring a picture to the groomer. He is adorable and will be cute with a new hair cut too.

| Do you want him to have a short cut or just a trim up? Do you want to get the fur trimmed up around his face? A good groomer would be able to trim his face so that you see his eyes and he doesn't have hair falling in his cute little eyes. If you do a search of Yorkie pictures online you will find a variety of cuts. I keep Gracie mostly long but she does get her butt and feet trimmed up. Sometimes we have to cut some length off. Just make sure you choose your groomer carefully and don't leave your baby alone at a place you are using for the first time. |

| I would definitely look up pictures of yorkie haircuts and bring in a couple examples of cuts you like. Good luck! Colby is adorable and I'm sure will look great no matter what

YT 2000 Club Member | Just be careful wlhere you take him to get groomed. Make sure you know this groomer and they will handle him with alot of love. Some groomers sad to say abuse the dogs when you are not around. I have a groomer come to my home and I stand there and help her. I know how my Yorkies are being treated. Some pet shop groomers are new and do not know how to handle the dogs or they razor burn them. Please be very selective where you take your precious dog . |

| Someone once posted this site on here and thought you might like to look at it. It helped me and I printed out the picture of the cut I wanted. Yorkshire Terrier Hair Styles | Hair Styles for Yorkies | Yorkshire terrier hair cuts, grooming styles |

| He is so cute messy. If you don't want to go drastic the first time I would just get him trimmed, body and face. I don't have them cut around Ahi's eyes and it has grown out and lays flat and doesn't bother or irritate her. Easier than when it's trimmed and when it grows out it starts to poke her in the eyes. I agree with the others, find a pic you like and take it to a groomer where you feel comfortable and they will let you watch. Maybe even a mobile groomer if you have one there.

| Small long haired dogs are quite the thing these days so a lot of people have set up shop to take advantage of the situation. If they won't let you stay and watch then keep looking. Your dog is a family member and not "just a dog." If they have that attitude then they don't deserve your business. There will be plenty of other places to choose from. |

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I found a couple of pictures I can bring in. I'll post pics once I get Colby groomed. | |
