| Yorkies are supposed to have upright ears but some have weak ear flaps that don't ever stand. When they are puppies it is best to have the fur on top of the ears trimmed short so the weight of the fur does not hold the ear down. Some people prefer the ears down. I thought I would prefer ears down until her's went up. It is just so funny when she uses those hears to express herself. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Trimming will help, but if they don't have the right ear structure they may never stand.

| I'm not sure at what age they will not go up. You can sure try to help them. Keep the fur trimmed short. I have also read that giving about a teaspoon of cottage cheese a day will help the cartilage form in the ears. They need that hard tissue to form to hold the ear up. The added calcium helps with that. |

| How old is your dog? Some dogs have ears that will never stand, but if you trim the hair that is weighing them down when they are young, they are more likely to stand up.
