| Puppycut? I have a Morkie named Amy and she hasn't been groomed yet because she hasn't had all her shots. When she does I want to keep her as cute as she is now and someone told me to get a puppy cut. What exactly is a puppycut? I want to upload pictures of her but haven't found a post to tell me how to do it but I am still looking for it. Thanks for any help on the puppy cut. |

| Guinness when he had the puppy cut... He is now a cross between puppy and rebel as my groomer calls it. But just think of how their fur looked as a puppy.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Posting pics Hi there, I am new here too. If you click on forums then on yorkie pictures the first posts tell you how to upload. I don't think it works with iPads though, but someone else will probably post if there is something I am doing wrong on iPad. I think a puppy cut is when the hair all over is groomed very short, you should google it, they are real cute, |

| Guinness is adorable. The body fur is exactly like Amy's except she is a Morkie. That is the way her fur is and would like it cut to still be that way. I got to learn to upload pictures so you can see her. |

| I am a mommy to a Morkie too. If you check out my album pictures you will see a picture of Cruz as a puppy (black with tan) after his first hair cut, he looked like a completely different dog to me. Cruz now is mostly tan with specs of black. Also our first hair cut was not as cute as i hoped! Pretty funny when I look back now! |

| This picture always makes me laugh.... Her baby had an IV to get her teeth cleaned so they had to shave a spot so she figured they might as well have fun with it and gave "boots with the fur". Timeline Photos | Facebook

| Oh I learned the hard way... Ask to see pictures of their work before you trust them with your baby!!! I asked for a puppy cut with my first groomer and picked up a crying schnauzer!!

| I have the best luck asking for a westie cut! It keeps the face and fur a bit longer and I like the look. It seems like more groomers understand what look I want! Puppy cut can be anything from shaved to some 1/2 haircut nightmare. |

| There are all sorts of stories on here about people asking for a puppy cut and not getting what they wanted. I think a puppy cut means different things to different people. You would be better off finding a picture of what you want done online, and showing them, or describing exactly what you want. She looks a lot like my sisters morkie did when she was little, and her fur is a lot different than my yorkies. I'm not sure if its maltese textured, or a combination or if shes just cottony and Yumi is silky since I've never been around maltese and Yumi is my 1st yorkie, but you might look for maltese styles too pick out your favorite yorkie, and maltese cuts and ask the groomer what would work best with her fur. Yumi and my sisters dog look totally different with roughly the same cut. |

| Oh, you should see the horror stories people have told about their first and second groomer visits! It seems every "groomer" has a different idea of what a puppy cut is! Remember that anyone can be a "groomer." There are no laws restricting who does grooming and nothing that says they have to have a certain amount of training. Try to find a picture of what you want and speak directly to the person who is going to do the grooming. Just because you hand a dog to someone does not mean they are the one who is going to do the work. My first time to a particular groomer went well. The second time I spoke to her about exactly what I wanted done but came back to a dog that had exactly the opposite done to her. Most puppies don't need much done to them because their fur is not that long. You may just want to have her face trimmed a little if that is what is bother you. |

| Its important to find someone who has groomed yorkies and knows how to give a yorkie puppy cut. Too many times I see where someone gets a puppy cut and the ears are cut short. Yorkie ears are left long and feathered. The best thing you can do is take in a picture of what you want

If you like the look of her right now, then maybe your groomer-to-be will be able to replicate it? It would be worth taking the photos to her, and discussing them with her, then deciding between you exactly what you're looking for. I did this, and it was a lot less hit-and-miss (the first time, she cut Harry's ears too short and he looked like an owl...) Good luck. Sally + Harry x | |
