| I have two yorkies with different coats. Ziva has super fine silky hair , that is quite wavy. She shed as a puppy with her hair going thru a few changes- I kept her cut rather short, but she would leave very fine (annoying)black hairs on my clothes and in the comb. She is three and if we comb her daily, she leaves hair in the comb but not much on us. Abby, just over one year old, has a straight, silky hair that has never shed at all. |

| Tink doesn't shed at all. There is usually a few hairs in the bristles after brushing. She sleeps in my bed every night and there's not a Tink hair to be found Is she itching a lot? Any bald spots or red skin? Excessive shedding can be a sign on something medical. |

| If you are finding hairs, I think something is wrong. My two don't shed unless I am brushing them. Can you post a picture of your pup?

| What is your pup's coat like otherwise. Is it possible that his hair is brittle and what you are finding is due to breakage rather than shedding? My Moka has silky hair, but it is super brittle and it breaks off before it gets long and I also find quite a bit of hair where she sleeps. She fights some dry itchy skin too. A good diet with omega oils helps us but I think it's just in Moka's DNA.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | I have three and one of mine shed, not even Jersey who is just 4mths. old. I would say a vet visit is in order. Yorkies are a non shed breed, so she shouldn't be shedding unless something is medically wrong.

| Georgie is a purebred Yorkie and he sheds a little here and there. My niece also has a purebred Yorkie Oliver and he doesn't shed at all. Having said that, if you are waking up on a regular basis with noticeable hair on the pillow I would visit to vet just to make sure there isn't a bigger issue.

YT 1000 Club Member | The only reasons I can figure on why you are seeing alot of hair. 1. Your Yorkie is not a purebred, Yorkies in general don't shed because they only have a single coat. 2. There may be underlying issues that is causing your yorkies hair to fall out. A trip to the vet may be in order. 3. some yorkies have a finer delicate coat that breaks easily. This may be what you are seeing. 4. depending on if your Yorkie is a puppy it may just be the puppy hair that is coming out as it is replaced by adult hair.
