| Morkie Hi everyone, I have a 8 month old morkie named Gaz. She weighs 7 and a half pounds. Has anyone had to get surgery on their babies knees? She has luxating patellas in both of her back knees. |

| There are several members on here whose pups have had the surgery for luxating patellas. I'm sure someone will see this thread and have advice for you. From what I've read, it's quite a bit of down time, but is a very successful surgery.

| Callie has had to have LP surgery. If you decide to do this make sure you go to an orthopedic surgeon and not let your regular vet do it.

| Yes except that the pin they used had to be removed after a few weeks she also had her ACL repaired at the same time. She is going to need the surgery on her other knee when her ACL tears on it which is is expected to do. I suggest a play pen and following all the rules to a T and I also think the weekly physical therapy until she was cleared was a great thing because they would also give we stuff to do to work with her at home. The first week was terrible seeing her so sleepy and hurting and she would not eat or drink but it started to look up from there.
