| K9 advantix2 prices. Divide doses? I have noticed that the price for all the different sizes of k9advantix 2 are almost the same price. I have read that you can buy the largest size and use a syringe to draw out the proper amount, saving lots of money. Maggie is 10.3 pounds, so I'll stick with the smallest (green). Has anybody done this? Do I need a needle with the syringe or just a syringe? Where do I get the syringe, will the drugstore jut sell me one? It is ridiculous to pay the same price as a 55 pound dog who gets 10x the amount of medicine, so I am interested in doing this. Petco has a sale right now, so they seem to be the cheapest. I will get the heart guard plus on 1800 petmeds unless someone knows a better priced site. Thanks! |

| I buy the one for medium sized dogs 10-25 lbs and divide the tube between Luna (5lbs) and Izzy (8lbs). Someone here posted about how their vet has told them how many drops to use on her crew, so she could buy the largest size. Hopefully whoever that was (I can't remember!!!) will post. It's crazy that they're all the same prices

| I have used Advantix in the past. I always purchase the small dog box and divide it between Rosie and Mikki. They each get about 1/2 a dose. Rosie is almost 6 lb and Mikki is a little more than 4 1/2. It has always worked for me and it saves me money!!

| I can't ever tell how much is left in the tube so I think it would be hard to divide the dose from a large tube. I don't want to overdo it because I know that would be bad. She now tolerates it fine, but when she was little it made her act weird for a day or two afterwards, so I'm afraid to overdo it. I'll have to figure out where to get a syringe for this. |

| I use frontline & the dose for a small dog is .67ml. I buy the largest size & draw up .67ml w/a needleless syringe & apply. I keep the remainder in a glass vial, away from any direct sunlight. You can get the glass vials from beauty supply stores, it's for essential oils. I would think you can do this w/advantix (any liquid). I don't always apply .67ml on my guys, since 2 of them are almost 5#'s, they only get half a dose for maintenance. I just use a syringe that I got from the vet...

| I bought the larest size on eBay. It came as a kit with the brown glass vial and syringe with the measure marked on the side. I use the 6.5 measure for my two that are about 10 pounds. When I need more I buy more flea protection. |

| I am not sure, but I THINK you can rescrew the cap back on the Advantix. Then I'll put it in a baggie or something airtight. I'll check out the glass vials as well. My brother turns out to have a 1 ml syringe he can give me so I'm buying the size that has 6x the amount of the "right" size. I only see it available in packs of 4 so it will last 2 years! |

Is it the "real" stuff? Have you used it? I am so afraid of getting something that is a fake and isn't safe or effective. (that's why I hesitate about ebay) Why the amber vial? Do you just squirt the whole tube into it and then draw from there as needed? I guess so, that explains the reply that said to buy the vial from the beauty store....NOW I get it! It's an ok deal since the petco sale price for 4 large dog tubes, which would do 10 doses each for a 10# dog, is about $46, but I don't need that much....it's still a savings but the seller is probably breaking up the large dog boxes and packing them with a syringe and vial and making a few bucks. Everybody wins I'd say. something to consider and so glad I asked! | |

http://www.epa.gov/opp00001/factshee...ilerfactsh.pdf 1. The only way to determine a legitimate Advantage product from a counterfeit product is by examining the actual product tubes that are inside the retail carton. Since the retail carton (outer box) and supplemental paper directions for use are identical between the legitimate product and the counterfeit product, check the language that is printed on the product tubes. The legitimate Advantage products all contain product tubes that are printed in English. The most obvious sign of a counterfeit product is that the product tubes are printed in a foreign language (most likely French or German).
