| Please somebody tell me why?????? When I give her a bath, she goes and lay down on her potty pad and hours after I give her a bath she smells like pee? When I feed them first, they hurry up and eat their food and then come stare at me eat my food like they haven't been fed in days? They always have to wake me up early to feed them on the days I can sleep late? Don't they know the days of the week. I'm confused Brandi knows what time I get home from work but she doesn't know when it's Saturday or Sunday? |

| As far as the bath smell/pee pad smell, she happens to like the smell of the pee pads better than what you are putting on her....she is just letting you know "whatever you are putting on me stinks and I am just hoping I can get some of this great pee pad smell on me to cover it up!" Mine know my schedule...what time I get home, when I leave, when I sleep and for how long, even down to my nap....I think they know to not make a sound until I get up....then when I get up, its game time!!!!! They all lay quietly, until I put my robe on...if I just get up to go to the bathroom, nobody says a word or even moves...but when I get up and put the robe on, the gang erupts into a wild, happy frenzy!!!! |

| ZoE doesn't know my days off work either. She wants to be fed by 6:30 EVERY morning of the week. I just get up & feed her and then we crawl back in bed.

| The first one, I'm not sure how to cure that. Maybe try different hair products to see if there is a scent they prefer. My guys have their preferences. If something smells too strong, they are unhappy (Chris Christensen products do not agree with them). Whenever you see her lying on the piddle pad, say,"Uh uh uh" or "no no no." Feeding: put the food down and go do something or sit somewhere. If they come to you, pet them and talk to them....but don't ever give in and give them more or a treat, otherwise they will always expect it. If you are staying in the kitchen or wherever you keep their food, and depending on what you say to them, they will think there is hope of getting more. My boys are like ZoE and want their meals at the same time every day. They probably know what day it is, but their stomach and saliva glands don't have a weekend schedule.

| Well, I think I would be taking my freshly washed dog off the pee pad right away! That would be a no no here. I've seen dogs roll all around the house after a bath but have never seen one lay on a pee pad Gracie always acts like she is hungry when she smells people food. It's like her hearts desire to eat people food. She will act like she is starving even though she just ate her own food. If the stare gets too intense for me I give her some of her Stella & Chewy's Carnivore Kisses. Wish they didn't go down so fast! I think they may know it is Saturday but their bladders and stomachs don't. Grace always likes to sleep in so, thankfully, we don't have that issue. I raised 5 kids and waited a lot of years to be able to sleep in when I wanted. These dogs are very much like children so if it's rest you are looking for I don't think you will find it with a Yorkie. |

YT 1000 Club Member | 1) It's in their nature to hunt prey, as all of our little Varminteers have been bread to do. That scrubbing action is an attempt to disguise their natural or imposed scent from the soap, where they can "hide" in the environment. 2) It's a "follow the leader" thing. You're still eating, so, they want to also, even if they are satisfied with their own level of consumption. I do hand feed my two "select" items off of the dinner table, and usually do a partial chewing (usually bits of Stake) with the item first. Many don't do this but, it emulates a natural activity of getting food directly from the mouth of a parent/leader. They KNOW what your saliva smells like. And, that's why (mainly puppies) try to lick their parent's faces, to promote a morsel of food to be given. That, in a formal pack, would provoke a parent to vomit up food for them to eat. Taking food out of your mouth for them to eat, is a VERY powerful Alpha influence to them. 3) Of course they know when it's a weekend ! I think the problem is, that you are yielding to their demands, and feeding/waking up when they want you to. Set a schedule for those days, and stick to it !

| I sometimes give Joel food when I'm eating depending on what it is, but the 2 rules are he never gets food when he's all up on me and it's only when I decide so not everytime. And he knows once I say "uh uh, absolutely not!"lol then he really knows he not getting any and he'll go away. |

| Why do they roll in stinky stuff ? because to them it smells sooooooooo good. Smells that smell lovely to us, smell ucky to them. They will sneeze at Rasberry Musk, High $$ perfume and yes, even Ivory soap. These things do not smell natural to them. They want to blend in with the natural scents around them, not stick out with a sent that everyone will notice. Why do Yorkies want my food ? Begging is a puppy like behavior. Our Yorkies stay dependent on us. It is fine to give a treat off your plate after you are finished eating. Just make sure it is a healthy bite, like a tiny piece of chewed meat, green bean or noodle. No cake please. Dog like routine. It makes them feel secure. It is ok to say, No go back to sleep it is Sunday. They understand, but they still need to go out. An hour delay may be fine, but more than that may be just too long to hold it.

| These little ones just have me wrapped around their paws. Brandi and my cat Zoey are seniors 12 and 13 so I tend to let them have their way. The older they get, the less I tend to discipline them. But then again they really do know the rules and they seldom break them. But every now and then they do stuff that makes you go hmmmmmm. They are good furkids, they don't get into a lot of trouble although the cat still tries to jump on the kitchen counter when she thinks I 'm not looking. The staring at me while I eat is a new thing actually. I admit I have given them a treat but it's not my fault. They tricked me into doing it. So I can't be blame for that. |
