| Omg omg I was just out in the yard raking it, all the furkids with me, we were out there for about an hour and all of a sudden i hear the leaves on the trees rustling, I look over at the furkids thinking they are playing in the piles and Scooter is looking straight up and there are two big hawks coming out of the trees and they dived on us. I have never been so scared in my life. They were not afraid of me that is for sure. I quick grabbed Sadie and Little Dude cause they are the smallest and cant run fast and yelled for the rest of them to come with Mommy into the house. This really is scary to think they would take my fur baby with me right there.

| What in the world is going on? I don't remember all these hawk reports last year! I've only been a member here a pretty short time considering some but seems lately there are so many hawks after our dogs. What could be going on?

| How scary!!! I'm so glad everyone was okay. What is it with the hawks this season? I'm in Texas and have seen a few hawks flying very low over my backyard. We have not been dived on (thank God) but I don't trust it. This is the first year I have seen them get so close. Nor have I read so many stories here on YT with members having close calls, and that the members are all over the country. You know, it's not just one specific area. |

| Oh WOW! What a scary experience! I am so glad that all turned out well and all of your furkids are safe. I don't think anyone is safe from hawks, owls, and coyotes anymore. We have destroyed so much of the habitat for their natural food sources that they have had to seek other food sources to survive. It is so very sad... Hawks are such magnificent animals. It is so sad and VERY SCARY for small dog owners that they have to resort to seeking our beloved pets for food. |

| It seems the birds of prey aren't afraid to just come in even if we are with our furkids. And yes it does appear to be more prevalent this year all around the country. Everyone be careful and watch your babies when you are out and about.

| I always thought that they circled first but I am telling you these two came out of no where. I am still shaking sitting here looking at my fur babies and thanking God that they are all ok.

| So glad your babies are safe & that you heard the hawks before anything bad happened! It's a risky time right now for little fur butts. Yes, reports of raptor numbers across the country indicate an increase this year for most species. Additionally, it's migration time, so more birds than usual are moving through most areas of the country for another few weeks. So you're more likely to have an encounter right about now. Last night I had a pair of courting Great Horned Owls in my yard when i took Lexie out for her last pee. I literally stood right over her!

| Wow, so glad everyone is okay. There has seemed to be a lot of hawk episodes lately. There was a story about one in a city near me about a dog getting picked up but was dropped. He had injuries but was expected to recuperate, Thankfully. We have them in my neighborhood and I have to say, there was a couple times I was a little shaken and didn't stay out any longer than we had to.
