| do you worry about them climbing out... of their x-pen?? I have one that has 8 sides, each panel is 24"L x 24"H. the pen is attached to her crate, so it is large and I put pee pads and food and water at one end and her bedding in her crate, its right next to my office, so when I'm working in there I put her in it and I can still keep an eye on her. When I've had to go to the grocery store, I have been putting her in her crate that is in our bedroom next to my bed, I wait till she goes to sleep and then sneak out and leave. When I come in the house she is whining and crying..obviously woke up at some point and saw that I wasn't there. Up till now there have been no accidents in her crate until yesterday, when I went to the store and came home, went in to bedroom and saw that she had pooped everywhere in her crate, on her doggie bed, on everything, she had it on her feet, ugh, I didn't even get the groceries put away, I put her in her x-pen while I grabbed everything from the bedroom crate, flushed the poop, and started the washing machine, while I did that, I went to get her to start cleaning her up and she had pooped everywhere in her x-pen while I was cleaning up the poop in the bedroom!!!! I was about to have a meltdown...cleaned up the x-pen while she was still in it, took all bedding out of her crate from x-pen to washing....went to bathroom and immediately gave her a bath...groceries still sitting on counter in bags...this whole debacle took over an hour, but finally when the wash was going, the x-pen was cleaned up and she was getting dry..I finally went to put the groceries away...had purchased a $5.00 scratchoff while I was at the grocery store, started scratching....trying to settle down some, lo and behold I won $500.00!!!...couldn't believe it after all this...anyway...don't know if she just got all worked up while I was gone, but this is the first time she had done this when I had left her in her crate..I'm wondering if I should leave her in the x-pen that she has access to peepads and her crate if she wants to...I'm worried that she will climb over the wire x-pen...so I'm going to try and find a top that I can put over the x-pen, maybe that would work..she obviously doesn't have free roam of the house, sorry about the long post...think I'm just venting and still getting over yesterday...but smiling cause now I have enough money to pay for her spaying that will get down sometime this month I think... |

| That is quite a day! As for climbing, I had to use the taller xpens for my boys. Even those, I have seen pictures of Yorkies balancing on the top! Really depends on the individual dog.

| Wow. That win came at the right time. A little reward for the poop scooping. :-) I was just posting that Maxx doesn't climb out of his play yard but I'm going to have to watch him now. I put him in Shantis crate for a second and he climbed to the top and held on to the door like a cat. I opened the door with him still attached. I will keep an eye on him because he is quite the ninja. Very sneaky smart.

| My Milo did climb out of his x pen and hurt his leg. I had to start putting him in the Landry room when I couldn't watch him. Now he is older and has run of the house. I wish I could get as lucky as you on the scratch off.

| My male has climbed out of their exercise pen, so I keep them contained in a bedroom now when we are at work. It is definitely possible for them to climb, so just keep an eye on her... Some pups don't ever escape, while others make it their goal to

| Joels playpen was about a foot tall, it was made from those metal squares that you use to make stotage shelves and I zip tied them together, lol When he finaly learned to climb out it only took me a day to teach him not to and then he never climbed out again, but I was also with him ALL day so I only used it so he learned to play by himself |

| When we brought Luma home in march we had an ex pen set up for her. She learned to climb out within maybe 2 weeks. We switched to a crate and she figured out how to open that too, so we had to start putting a caribeaner clip around the lock on the door. She gets free roam of the apartment now or but sure she'd figure out how to open our front door if she were tall enough to do so.

| We have a 3ft tall xpen and we also have a jumper named Laddy who jumps to the top grabs hold and bails over so yes they can lol. Kyra has never tried to jump over or climb over but she is one you can't let near the gate of a chain link fence because she is tiny enough to go between the posts lol. They really can be a handful at time these little ones but worth every minute of it.

| Yazmin's exercise pen is 36" tall but since I use it in my in back yard, I found a Cover on eBay that will protect her from birds, cats or any other creature that could possibly get in her pen. I'm sure it would would work for your purpose also. I usually put her in the pen while I'm doing yard work so I don't have to worry about her slipping out the back yard while the gate to my fence is open. 24 30 36 42 48" Dog Exercise 8 Pen Fence Create Cover | eBay |

| funny I found the same cover yesterday after I posted and went on the prowl to find something....was wondering if that would work...does it stay tight?...now if I can figure out a way to get her not to eat her peepads...today she has just started doing that, was in my office like I am every day and had her in her x-pen like every morning, I get up from my desk about every 5 minutes to peek around the doorway and check on her. This morning, I saw her laying on one of her peepads and had a chew hole in the center of it, of course I freaked out...found the little piece that was missing on the floor while I grabbed her up and put her in her crate..changed the peepad, let her back out, it wasn't even 5 minutes this time I got up again to peek around door, she was doing the same thing to the new peepad!!! only this time I couldn't find the missing piece, so now i'm freaked out about that, thankfully I caught her before she got very much, only a piece of it, but still now I can't trust her in the x-pen even if I get a cover, for fear she will eat her peepads....don't know what to do now....so frustated..I watch her every second of the day, except for when I'm in my office working and even then I don't go more than 5 minutes without getting up and down checking on her...I'm so wore out, she's got me to a meltdown stage...I love her so much...will this behavior ever end????...she goes to the vet this afternoon for her rabies shot...now if she gets tummy troubles I won't know if it is the piece of peepad that she ate or the shot... |

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer to help you with the pee pads. Yazmin will use her indoor Potty Patch when I'm away, but will go potty outside when I'm home.

| Carla, I went the potty patch route, she pulled out and tried to eat the plastic grass....she is a handful I'm telling you....I emailed the seller of that cover and asked if it would fit the size pen I had, and they wrote me back and asked if I bought the pen from them, cause it was made to work on theirs. Did you buy the x-pen from them? Or does it just work on the size you have....she will go outside when I take her outside, I'm just trying to figure out a way to confine her when I have to leave the house for a couple hours, without her destroying everything in her path....so my DH said...don't put the peepads in the pen...I said, 'just let her pee on the floor'? he said, why not its linoleum...she'd probably go for her bed if the peepads weren't there...so maybe I'll have to leave her in a bare x-pen and bare crate!!! Maybe a t-shirt...it would take her a while to tear that up and eat it..! |

No, I didn't buy Exercise Pen from that particular Seller. Actually, I purchased the Pen first and then discovered the Cover from another Seller later. It will definitely fit though because the dimensions are the same.
