| Milo ate a chocolate chip Will it hurt him? My daughter was making cookies and must have dropped a chocolate chip. I know dogs aren't suppose to eat chocolate.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh that's not enough to cause a problem. Dark chocolate is worse than milk chocolate, but they can still eat ounce for every three pounds of weight. Dogs and Chocolate Toxicity Above that amount they might experience diarrhea and above that amount, it could affect the nervous system, which could be deadly. The bad thing is once they taste chocolate, they will be on the look out for it.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I agree, one chocolate chip isnt enough to be harmful. But given repeatedly is not good. I know it was an accident, but just because its not harmful doesnt mean he should get in on purpose )

| He should be fine, obviously keep an eye out, you could drop a lil apple cider vinegar down his throat and ask the vet by phone about any immediate need for pepto benadryl but really that's all used for mild tummy upset or natural general detox allergy reactions. Scoobers ate an entire tube of Oreo s once he was fine...some seriously black pooh though.

| Thanks. I was worried about him. I just didn't know how much he would have to eat before it would hurt him. It was no getting it from him. He ate it in a hurry.

| One won't hurt him, but just be careful not to leave chocolate out... I know for a fact that if I left anything chocolate out, my male would devour every last bit of it.
