| Vital Complete Meals question! Hey everyone! We haven't posted on here in a while, but I need to thank you all for the great advice and wisdom that is constantly shared. The pictures are great too! I do have a question though and I thought you could help me out... Tigger is a year and a half now and eating is not his favorite activity. We have tried everything, including Honest Kitchen, Now, Halo Stew and Natural Balance lamb rolls (just to name a few). We recently picked up the Vital Complete Meals dog food in the refrigerator section and he LOVED it. First time, after warming it up a little, he ate a complete 1/4 cup and then licked the bowl clean. Does anyone have any comments or reviews on this food? Any information would be great. Thanks in advance. Also, I don't know how pictures work on here, but here's a link to his Facebook page for some recent photos. Thanks again!! Tigger Digiandomenico-Bair | Facebook |

| Welcome back!!!! I found this Vital Dog Food | Review and Rating on that food, looks pretty good. The important thing is that he loves it Be careful switching his food too much, as this can make pickiness worse. I saw this food in Walmart yesterday, they even refrigerate the dry kibble type food, I wonder if it's safe to let it sit out all day like we do with regular kibbles?

| Thanks LunasMomma - We've tried to be as cautious as we can be with switching his food to avoid that, but our little one seemed to be picky from day one. I'm sure we haven't helped though! And we've kept it in the fridge and plan on doing so. There are no preservatives in it which is why it can't be left out like other dry food... I think? |

| That makes sense, no preservatives, no leaving it out. I was wondering about that. t wouldn't work for us because we free feed kibbles and they get their canned twice a day. The food does look good, though

| Vital has carrageenan: Carrageenan Just Don't Do It If it's going to be in dog food, it's in some cans & rolls. Here's a list of foods that contain carrageenan: Search Results carrageenan It also has 'natural flavors' which makes the food palatable...almost addictive. Law Firm Investigating Animal Feed Flavoring Plant "Natural Flavor" in pet food? What is it really? Flaxseed oil can be problematic (cause loose stool), as it can become rancid. If selecting food w/flaxseed, choose 'ground flaxseed'. If your fur baby is doing good on this food, I would not switch. There are better options out there, keep looking...good luck.

| Hi fellow Pittsburgher!!! If you do decide to switch any time in the future, try checking out Agway. These stores are all over Pittsburgh. They sell a lot of premium dog food there too. Our breeder used to feed her pups Wellness but noticed her pack was getting itchy from it so she switched to Nutrisource Grain Free Seafood Select and we just started getting our babies switched to that too. They don't sell it in a lot of stores around here but Agway was able to supply us with what we need. Not saying that this is the brand for you, but just offering a suggestion for the future. Also, I was just looking online at this food, and is soft and chewy? Maybe he likes it because of its texture and hard/crunchy kibble just might not be for him. My mom was feeding her late dog beneful which was refigerated and soft/chewy food but because of her allergies, my mom had to switch her food to something harder and crunchy and it took forever for her to come around to eating it - my mom ended up having to put cottage cheese on it for her to even consider it. Just something to think about if you have to switch later
