| Do you have to spell your vet's name in front of your dogs? Okay, so today my husband and I were discussing when would be a good time (for us) to schedule Bella's spay. She's 1 year now (we were waiting on her distal femoral as that was the only stubborn one and it's now formed and matured). In any case, she was just at the vet's the other day for a weight check, growth plate check and overall 'health check'. She also received a shot of corti for her allergies this time of year. Well, we always call him Dr. Becker and not "the vet" when we discuss going there. I was in the process of calling them and my husband pipes up and says "Make sure you ask for Becker" (since there are three vets there and we prefer him). Bella was in the room, and she heard that and whimpered...proceeded to run into the bedroom and hide in the closet behind my husband's galoshes. ...guess we'll have to start spelling things from now on. She equates Becker with shots. |

| Oh, no! Tibbe loves to go to the vet! All I have to say is the word "vet" and he's right by the front door going in circles.

| We have to spell out alot of things in our house and yes that includes vet and groomer because Chachi is too dang smart. We can never say go or bye either that creates a bark and crying frenzy. The only problem with that is they start to figure out what your spelling out then your in the same predictament

| Aww how sweet! I wish Bella had a pleasant experience at the vet's but she never does. -_- They're extremely nice to her and very gentle, and they talk to her and 'gush' over her, but in the end she knows they're going to poke her with something in the rear-end or the neck...so she hates it there |

| Poor baby! Ella hates going the vet too, I'm currently looking into changing vets. I do have to spell go or out when i'm talking about going somewhere without her. Her ears will perk up and she gets so excited for either a walk or car ride. |

| lol! it's funny reading about other things people have to spell. I can't say Daddy anymore unless my husband is home, otherwise they all haul butt to the back door with their tails wagging looking for him...and then they turn to me and look at me like I've tricked them. I say "Daddy's home" when he pulls up in the driveway, but by that time they've already heard the car anyway. |

| My Chachi doesnt like the vets either yr back he had to get treatment for mange and he never liked the vets after that. Anyway he would do a funny thing we always take him there in a travel crate and when we needed to get him out he wouldnt come out he would ground his feet into the bottom of the crate so you couldnt pull him out. So finally we turned the crate vertical and he fell out. He is a stinker when he wants to be. Ive never had a dog as smart as him

| After vet visits, we go to Dairy Queen for country chicken baskets and beef finger steak baskets....whoever went to the vet gets one of the chicken or the beef fingers, which ever they prefer...so when my dogs hear vet, or Dr.Wickle, they start looking for the carrier, because THAT means Dairy Queen! And dont beat me up for feeding them junk food...they only get one beef finger or one chicken tenderloin each....and that only happens once or possibly twice a year.....BUT I DO HAVE TO SPELL DAIRY QUEEN!!!!!! |

LOL We have to spell, encode, sign/gesture, or consult the thesaurus for anything they like to do. Texting is next...but they are also wanting cell phones for Christmas, so...

YT 1000 Club Member | My Male Sneakers is so clairvoyant, there's no use in spelling. All I have to do is think about going somewhere, and I hear the romp of little paws coming, with him looking back and forth between me and where I have their Harnesses hanging. This is absolutely the truth, and has happened many many times. I think he's teaching MY Female Becca how to do that as well.
