| Why are his ears not standing up Jack is now 10 and 1/2 weeks old and his ears are not standing up. When he is laying down (flat on his back) his ears will flop up but when he is in normal upright position they are still flopped over. Is this normal? |

| Yes this is very normal. Caesar's ears were like that. Now, only one of them flop. I liked him a lot better when both of them were floppy!!! I think it is sooooo cute |

| They might stand back up, or you can tape them, or not. Loki's ears were down and I taped for 3 days and it did not help (and he HATED it) so we just left them floppy. He's adorable like that.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Welcome to YT! It is very normal! Sometimes you can tape them up, but a yorkies' ears go up and down all through the time they are teething. Tucker's ears are too big and heavy, so they never went up, although, he's still young so they may still go up. Shave the ears so that they are lighter too!

| Thank you everyone for your responses....I feel a little better now. Maybe when we take Jack in to the vet for his 12 week shots we can see about shaving his ears so they will stand up...this yorkie forum is great, it is about time I could find someone to talk to that could relate to the love I have for my dog!!! | I taped Ginny Joys ears. They were floppy. Now they stand beautifuly. Her mom had semi floppy ears. I just followed YT threads about floppy ears and watched the how to tape threads.

| Yeah they'll flop up and down when they are young and teething. Geno's ears are finally staying up. The breeder taped them when he was little and while he was teething, his one ear would flop, but he also had an ear infection and we had to put gel in his ear so that was another reason why the one flopped. He hasn't been teething too much now so they have been staying up. We also get them tipped at the groomers. If you just look on the board or online, it'll tell you all the information you need to know.
