| Concerned about my Maddie Jo Maddie has always been the independant one but she's been loving and always slept in the bed with us at night. But, lately it seems she's putting more and more distance between us...sleeping on the floor or laying in another room instead of with us in the family room. She has no health issues, nothing has changed within the house or our routine...I just don't know why she is being this way. Last night I put her in the bed and she got down and slept on the floor...she's been doing that for a couple of weeks now. She has been with us since she was a puppy and she will be 5 in a couple of weeks...no recent vaccines or diet changes...I feel like she doesn't like me anymore...but I don't know what changed... Everytime I sit down in my chair I pick her up to sit with her and she will stay there for a little while and then get down. I talk to her and play with her, I feed her and do probably 99% of their care and all of their grooming and yet when we come home they run past me to greet my husband with full enthusiasm...I get nothing until they are done seeing 'Daddy'. I'm starting to feel offended by this...lol! Any ideas as to what I can do to make this better? |

| Are you home with her most of the time? Mine love it when "Daddy's home!" They have been with me all day and get really excited about him coming home. As far as getting down from the bed, could she be getting hot maybe? Sorry just trying to get some ideas here. Maybe someone else has had experience with this?

| We're retired so we're both home about the same amount. As for getting hot...nothing has changed there either...we have central AC and there is plenty of room in the bed for her to either lay on her fluffy blanket or the cotton bedspread and the floor is carpeted so it can't be the 'soft' factor. As for the blankets...I haven't changed soap or softener. I'm just stumped...I feel like my baby girl doesn't like me anymore |

| Hmmmmmm. I am at a loss here then. Maybe you two need some mommy and me time together. Just the two of you. Do you go to the park or on walks together? Does she ride in the car? I know that I try to do things with just me and Rosie occasionally. And she loves the mommy and me time. Just a thought.

She still gets carsick so we don't do rides very often but she is dying to ride in the new truck I think so we might try that later. It's like I've done something to hurt her feelings or to offend her but it's her secret... Maybe she's mad at me for making her go out and potty while it was raining?? The overhang on our house is about 2 1/2 feet though so they stay dry under that when it's raining. She really does hate to get wet though...I think she's the only dog I know who doesn't shake during and after a bath...she just gives me the stink eye the whole time. She's due for a bath too and I was going to do that this afternoon...better not push it though! lol! | |

| Sometimes Jackson gets weird like this. Summer time, he generally speaking prefers the floor, as he gets hot. But sometimes I think he just prefers it. I get offended too, and quite sad, lol. I was desperate enough one night that I put his dog bed on MY bed so that he would curl up in it next to me. I toally miss when he's not on there, haha. In the winter, he is sooo much more cuddly. I love waking up to him curled up against me. But he goes through random phases too. They don't last long.

I Love My Babies Donating Member | I am so sorry this is happening to you. Sending you hugs and hope you find out what the problem is soon. I don't have any idea what could be causing it. Have you asked your vet?

| Mine are less cuddly in the summer months too, even with the AC running. It does sound like she may be mad at you. Did you try apologizing to her? Like: I don't know what I did, Baby, but Mommie is sooo, sooo sorry! Then hug her. And don't forget the kisses!

The only thing I can think is...they 'normally' get raw food everyday but I bought a bag of the Boost which is kibble with freeze dried raw bites mixed in. They like it but maybe she's bent out of shape because I took the raw food out of their diet?? It's not a permanent change...just an addition to the raw diet every few days. Maybe she doesn't think she'll be getting her raw food again?? Maybe I'll go get some tomorrow...I noticed today that Moo is getting tear stains with this food and her face was totally dry since changing their diet to raw. | Georgie is the same way sometimes. There have been periods of time where he gets down off of our bed to lay in his. I think they just go through phases. I know how you feel though it's like wait what did I do? LOL if everything is the same with eating, potty ect.... I would consider it a phase.

| Jada goes through phases as well, she alternates between being a mommy's girl and a daddy's girl. She also stopped being as cuddly when it got hot, she will not lay up against me for long or she will get too hot and get down and get a drink of water, lay on the wood floor to cool off or go get in her bed. The only other time she gets a little distant is when she has a tummy ache and I can tell when she has one of those because she will stretch out and lay in random spots on the floor repeatedly. I hope Maddie cheers up soon! |

| O.k...I picked up their raw food this morning so she'll have that for her dinner. I'll use the rest of the Nature's Variety Boost kibble to alternate so they don't have it everyday...that should make her happy Also, a couple months ago I started using a small fan at night but she has slept on the bed since then...last night she started out in her bed on the floor but when I got in bed and she didn't hear the fan she jumped up and stayed there all night. So, tonight I'm going to turn the fan on again and see where she goes... |
