I got my puppy at ten weeks. Never cried because her crate was next to my bed, if she made a peep, I would tell her to sleep. A month later she started sleeping in my bed. One big difference with her, clothes makes her sleep. Any outfitte anytime of day she will sleep. That part, I don't understand! Good luck! Try putting her crate next to you at bedtime.

I am ready to cry with him

How much exercise is your pup getting before bed time?

What the duration between potty times?

How long are you kenneling for?

What does the kennel have equipt in it and how big is it?

Puppies will do that. When he wakes up and starts doing that take him potty then put him back in and you will have to ignore it. If you take him out and hold him and let him run around every time he cries he is going to cry so he wont have to be in there and knows you will reward him by taking him out and letting him do what he wants. Callie was terrible crying for the first week or so but eventually they will get the hang of it. How old is he?

Some times you just have to wait out this stage. Some ideas that may help.
1. Do not let him nap after 5 or 6 pm. If he naps wake him .
2. Do some training exercise, play, potty, and take a walk to tire him out before bed.
3. Do make his crate dark and cozy, put a cuddle toy with your sent on it in his crate
4. Do not give in to whines and barks . Even a very young puppy can sleep for 4 hours and let you sleep too. As general rule if he is 8 weeks he can sleep 4 hours without potty break, 12 weeks old, 6 hours without night potty break, 16 weeks 8 hours with out a potty break.
5. I do not suggest any adverse training methods while in the crate (yelling at, spraying with water etc..) The crate should be his safe place, for naps, sleeping ,new toys, and special treats.

Sounda like you're doibg perfect!

Now to get puppy to realize it...it takes sometimes in my experience up to two weeks to establish the bed tine routine and really tiring them out just before bed time.

Princess did great in her kennel we use rhe heart beat lamb sold in baby secrions of stores...worth a try.

I ended up putting my baby in bed with us. He was about 5 months old. He sleeps all night unless he needs to potty then he gets down goes on his pad and back in bed. I couldn't stand the crying at night. I guess I am a sucker. He gets his way a lot. Lol

Eevee would cry almost all night and hardly ever slept for weeks. That should have been impossible (and I still don't know when she slept, maybe while I was at work and she was in the expen?) and I was doing all the things everyone told me, including not putting any bedding in her crate. One day I put a bed in there, on a whim, and she shut up and slept perfectly all night long and hardly ever cried again. Don't know if that's his problem too, but I know it was a magical solution for me!

This sounds like my first post on here.
I kid you not, Gizmo would cry and cry for 8 straight hours. I had max of an hour to two hours of sleep many times when I went to work, and even the week of my wedding.

We discovered that Gizmo was taken from his Momma very young, therefore he developed major separation anxiety from me (he's still a major Mommas boy).

Despite my firm beliefs of not having a dog in my bed, I just couldn't take it anymore and brought Gizmo up to our bed, and he's been here ever since. He'll sleep at the foot of on the ground at the foot of our bed, in either his cloud 9 or on my Cairn's faux mink bed with his quilt.

Gotta do what works for you, but my heart does go out to you on a crying pup. It's sometimes enough to drive you nuts!

My baby Trinket is 16 weeks old now. We got her at 9 weeks. She has never cried at night. I put a throw over her crate. I have it on a trunk next to my bed so she can see me. If I hear her up I reach over and touch her to let her know I am there. She will not go to sleep unless I have all lights out. She will sleep in dark only. Sometimes she will fall asleep when I cuddle her just before bed. We play with her and wear her out about an hour before bedtime. Sometimes she wants a little something to eat. Maybe your baby needs a little snack.
