Thin hair on head? I was wondering, my babe that is not quite 12 weeks, has pretty thick hair everywhere, but i can see his 'scalp' a bit, and it looks almost like he has thinning hair there. Is this normal, or should i have it checked out? PS-Mitzi'smom was my username-but since i got a male, and named him Cisco, that didn't work lol

It seems they all get a little thin on top!!!!!! Chloe's got thin, then it started growing again and turning silver. Now, at almost 7 months old, the silver is turning into gold. I really think he is fine, but you could give your Vet a quick call. It seems that every month, Chloe's hair color changes and is getting thicker! Joy

We thought Joey was balding on top for a little while, too, and then realized that it was because he was getting really light hair (whitish silver) on his head. Numerous people have said the same thing on this board, so I'm betting that is what is happening to Cisco, too. Cute name, BTW!

My dog looked like he was bald on the top of his head too. But, when I looked closely, what I was seeing was "white hair" --not his scalp. Nevertheless his hair is very thin all over. Now he is getting white roots over the rest of his body (body, sides, belly, etc.)...and the black hair is growing out. Maybe he'll end up silver like some Yorkies I have seen - or maybe his hair will turn darker again. Who knows!!!! Seems like every day, his colors are going some different direction. By the way - my Vet said, "Looks like your pup has a bald spot," but when we examined him more closely, the vet said, "Nope - looks more like white hair." Carol Jean
