| Does anyone else's yorkie have really slow growing hair? Brody's hair grows SO fast & I'm constantly trimming it. Sophia has NEVER had the hair on her body trimmed, and it's so short! She's only gone to the groomer once, where they trimmed the hair on her face & her arms and legs. All I do is trim the hair on her nose when it starts getting long.. that's IT! Her hair doesn't matt at all and I've never had to brush her . I tried to select pictures that show what I'm talking about. 1st pic - 5 months old 2nd pic - 1 year old 3rd & 4th pic - 1 year and 5 months Does anyone else have this kind of hair on their pup? I always see pictures of yorkies with beautiful long hair, but I think Sophia's always going to have short hair

| Sounds like she's got that true silk coat we all want our babies to have! Izzy is the same way, her hair grows sooo slowly that she hardly needs a trim at the groomer, she mostly goes for her bath and nails every two weeks. Luna is cottony and matts if you just look at her Her hair grows super quickly! Your babies are darling

| Sarah, I know exactly what you mean. My Moka is similar. Her face hair grows long, and so does her leg hair which is super silky, but her body hair is more wiry and is very very brittle. I believe it's the weakness that causes breakage rather than that it doesn't grow. Moka fits the description of a "red leg" perfectly too. She also tends to have a little bit of dry skin. So I try to keep her bathed which softens her hair and moisturizes her skin and I feed her TOTW pacific stream with salmon and I think it does help her coat. It's always very shiny and jet black.

| Laddy has the silky coat and it takes much longer to grow length. They still should be brushed a couple times a day to keep the blood circulating in their skin and keep the coat shiny and healthy. Also even though it looks short you would be amazed how much trimming even a quarter of an inch a month from it will help. It took Laddy till he was 2 to obtain a long coat. Unfortunately we had to cut him shorter this summer and are working on it again because he developed allergies and chewed his coat up badly. Below is a picture of what they can be. That is Laddy in full coat.

| It seemed like it took me forever to get Rosie's hair to grow out. I wish I could remember when she grew out as long as she is. I am thinking she was about 2??? I just don't remember. Mikki has coarser hair than Rosie. I think hers has grown some (she just turned 2) but I don't think it will ever look like Rosie's. Maybe she will grow out some more. But she sure is cute just like she is!

| That would be my girl exactly. Her hair only grew up to her knees and stop growing. Never brush matts of her and barely has hair. She's three yrs old and never had a haircut.

| That's me Gracie too. I have trimmed the hair on her ears, but the sides take for ever to grow. She just turned 2 years old, and I still have not trimmed it. Her mother's is different. It grows pretty fast.

| It seems as though Hot Rod's body and leg hair takes a long time to grow out while his face and tail grow out quickly. He has thin, soft hair. I guess this is a silky coat?? Just when his coat was actually feeling a bit fluffy and full, it was time to shave him down for the summer. It took since last year to grow it out. Maggie on the other hand has a beautiful fluff coat that grows out much quicker. I would love to have her grow long but it just gets so hot here in MD and I just think it's so much cooler for them. Also I think that it's easier to spot any ticks on them being shaved down.
