| New Yorkie/ New Puppy Owner- Questions We recently got our first puppy, our precious Yorkie Bailey who is 10 weeks. Our vet said to feed her 3 times a day but she is pooping almost 7 times a day. Is this normal? We have had some great luck with her pooping/ peeing outside but it never fails that when we return her to her crate she poops in it and then needs a bath. Any suggestions for this? |

| You can feed 3+ times a day or free feed for now. Also, keep fresh water available all the time. Make sure she is eating and drinking properly. These little things can get hypoglycemia real easy and can go downhill real fast. We never had any trouble with ours eating and drinking, but some can tell you stories that will scare you to death. I always kept food and water available all the time. Puppies pee and poop a lot so that's probably normal. If the vet has checked her and made sure she's healthy and doesn't have worms or anything then don't think you have anything to worry about except cleaning up the messes. Potty training takes time and patience. My 3 yr old yorkie Maggie still goes in the house sometimes if she doesn't want to go outside (hates the wet grass). It sounds like you're off to a good start though. Good luck and congrats on the new baby!

| Thank you so much for the advice! That was very helpful. Also, did you do treats when potty training? Did you give a treat every time? Thanks! |

| We gave treats when training. We liked Zuke's Mini Naturals and we also used plain Cheerios quite often. They loved it. The Zuke's Mini Naturals are healthy, soft, and small. They work really well, but you have to keep the bag closed up good so they don't dry out.

| That was gonna be my question. If the food has a lot of fillers in it, it will make the doggy poop a lot. Good luck with your new little one. Be consistent and patient and you'll have the best companion ever

| Miss Priss pooed a lot when I first got her and I knew why b/c they fed her Puppy Chow, after I changed her to Blue Buffalo she only pooed 3 times a day. I told my husband that the puppy chow was having to go but I had to do it gradually. Good luck and any premium food should cut down on the poos. Congrats on getting your new baby, looking forward to pics.

| Thank you everyone! I love the feedback and the advice. I don't feel so alone in this. We are using Puppy Chow but have heard the Blue Buffalo is better. Would you introduce the new food slowly, a little at a time? Where can I buy the Blue Buffalo? We will get it today! |

| Is your puppy's stool firm? As long as it is firm you are OK. If she is having loose stools then there may be a problem. |
