| Reputable Breeders in Massachusetts Hi all, We lost our 15 year old girl (Itty Bitty) two days ago and while, of course, we'll never replace her, we do want to start looking for a new puppy. Looking for suggestions for reputable breeders in MA (and surrounding states if necessary). Preferably smaller breeders, where dogs are raised in a home setting. We don't show or anything. Just want a great little pup with a great temperment to love. Thanks! |

| My personal favorites in New England-- These are people I know well enough to trust. There are some I won't name I wouldn't deal with, others I just don't know well enough to have an opinion. I would consider buying from Cheryl Kroll of Hihopes in Ashford CT, Beth Faunce in Fairhaven MA, Vicky Cole-Wilbur of Sugar Maple in central Vermont, Tammy Paige in Auburn ME. Rose and Bill Jenks of Foxfire in CT always have gorgeous show winners in the ring and are consistently pleasant at shows. Get references from customers, vets and other breeders.

| Thank you! ... "magicgenie" and "107barney!" Susan, I know you also emailed with my partner, Andrea, yesterday. I will contact all these folks that you recommend. We haven't purchased a puppy in years and forgot what a process it is! But, I'm excited to be learning about the different reputable breeders in the community. It's so important to do one's research so as to not end up purchasing from someone who's essentially running a mill. Thank you for being generous with your time and knowledge. It's great to know that there are folks out there so dedicated to the health and well-being of Yorkies (and dogs in general!). |
