| Need your thoughts... For those that don't know I am Jim...my wife and I got our first yorkie a yr ago then added another about 9 months ago....2 children 7(girl) & 10(boy) round out the family....well we have been talking about getting another yorkie as the kids have sort of claimed these 2...although they are "daddys" boys....I am the one who spoils them...anyway, we are both self employed and my wife is home all day...she does transcription so it makes it great for her to available to the kids and the boys get to roam most of the day...they love their cage thou and go in there when we go away. Well as I said we want another one...the bug has bitten, we were thinking female, but now wonder if we should not get another male...my 3 sons...(isn't that cute?)....but for those that have multiples...what are your toughts...2 boys(neutered) and a girl ok? (We have absolutley no desire to breed we are a pet only home...no show either...) or should we stick with 3 boys? We talked to a friend last night and we have an opportunity to get our Maxs full brother or their half brother (same father) that would be a bit older- Max is 1 yr and 4# Milo is 9 months and almost 7#(they have the same father)....or should we go puppy....My wife had really wanted a female but now she is saying maybe we should get another boy...(WOMEN!!)haha Thanks in advance for your thoughts...have a great day, Jim |

Sorry I can't be of much help. Congrats on deciding to get a new baby. I have one of each. Mollie is 2 years old and just got spayed a few months ago. Wyatt is 4 1/2 months old. He is her baby and they get along great. I think if you wanted a female with your boys being fixed I don't see a problem. This is just my opinion. Of course another boy would be fine as well. Like I said not much help. Good Luck in your decision. Keep us posted.

| I would get a female since you already have two males. I have one of each and I enjoy them both. I think your wife would really enjoy having a female if you had one. They are petite and there are all kinds of cute clothes and bows for them. As far as personalities I like males and females. My female is more the cuddler and lap dog though.

| I would go more with the personality and choice of size rather than the sex of the pup. You'll know which one is right for you. It will take some of the pressure off if you don't decide on a sex and then have to pick from that gender. Let us know when you get your new family member . Also, if you LOVE the personality of your Yorkies, you may want to pick from the same sire as you mentioned....however, if you want to try something different, look around a while. My newest little baby has SUCH a laid back personality as did BOTH of his parents. I was in awe of how calm (but not afraid in any way) they both were, and Cowboy just amazes me that he is exactly like them though he is only 4 months old now. |

| Everyone has given such helpful replies but I really like what Julz had to say. Finding a pup who's personality shines through is such great advise. Whatever your gender choice you decide I wish you luck on finding the next "family member". You will soon have "The Three Yorkiteers" (like musketeers...get it? LOL....I know, dumb joke ) Have fun choosing ~ this is sooo exciting for you all.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Need Your Thoughts I Bought all of mine as little 12 week old puppies except for the oldest girl who is now 8 and we have had her 2 years. I would never take an older dog again, unless it was for rescue and not a choice pet. She is timid, hates men and gets spooked so easily. Not knowing her background I am always feeling badly for her and do not know how to help her or what she fears. There is nothing in our home for her to fear. I have 2 spayed girls and 3 unnuetered boys. Only problem is occasional attack by oldest male who is 3 yrs and weighs about 10 pounds on the one of my little ones. He is 1 yr old and weighs 5 lbs. That is very scary but I think he is asserting his Alpha position. Cannot leave them alone though as it is frightening and I have heard of bad things happening. The girls have an occasional squabble with each other but they both get along fine with the boys. Of course, FEMALES are usually much nicer in any species....

| I have always had and loved both male and female dogs. I have lately favored the male -- for a couple of reasons. Their pee doesn't kill my grass. I can use belly bands on them and help keep down the "urine damage" in my house. Plus the belly bands are very handy when we visit other people's homes. But - they are both wonderful and get along very well together. Carol Jean PS -- "My Three Sons" is very cute. You shouldn't pass that opportunity up. |

| I don't know that I can help too much. I haven't gotten my little girl yet. I have heard the boys have the better personalities but dogs are like people. They're each different in their own right. You'll figure it out and good luck finding the perfect furbaby to add to your family!

| How exciting a new puppy. I have 2 females and 1 male. When I got my three I picked the puppy who touched my heart. The all have just different personalities, you can't go wrong with either.
