| I gave a haircut to a yorkie with minor fleas. My girlfriend has a yorkie who's getting over a flea problem. He's been to the vet and has been washed a few times with the necessary flea baths. She brought the dog to my house tonight for a haircut. He didn't enter the inside of my home but entered from the side of the house and I shaved him on a tiled back porch. My question is if he had a flea or two on him that we didn't catch, is it possible for them to multiply on my back porch? I washed the whole porch with water and flooded the grass around it. I threw out all the hair deposits near a local dumpster (I walked there, didnt want to bring the bag in my car). The week she found about 6 fleas on him but we didnt see any before his haircut. Thanks in advance. |

well i suppose it is possible but i think you should be ok. if you are worried about it you could treat your back yard for fleas just in case. . most importantly , has your girlfriend treated her home and yard for fleas. if not , the fleas may keeping coming back. aside from the vet visit and the baths is the little yorkie on flea preventative such as frontline, for example ? | |

| It sounds like you cleaned up pretty well but if you are still concerned you might want to vacuum the porch and throw out the contents just like you did the stuff you swept up. The vacuum can get eggs and things that sweeping might not pick up. Hopefully the poor thing didn't have any fleas left on it. |
