| Are keeping this one inSide the house ? Remember that yorkies are not supposed to be left outside and yes a dog CAN be quiet. A dog is like a person each one will have their own personality. Every dog is different but you should love them no matter what.

| Give her time to settle and her personality will soon appear. As for the smell she may take a few baths to get rid of the smell if she has not been kept very well.check that the smell is not coming from her breath as her teeth may need some attention.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | yes, you can get the smell out, I love the "Fresh and clean" dog shampoo with baking soda. My friend's pomeranian had a stinky problem with his skin and coat and this shampoo took care of it in two shampoos.. and PLEASE keep this doggy inside, yorkies and silkies are NOT ouside dogs.. hugs, and congrats on your new baby. hugs |

| Where did you get this 2yr old dog from? Was it from a clean environment? I few months ago, I went with my friend to pick up a puppy she was going to foster. The dogs & puppies had been taken from a local rescue home that got WAY out of hand. There were dead dogs in the house laying around with the other dogs & puppies. This puppy she picked up smelled like rotting roadkill...smelled of death. I was the lucky one that got to give it a bath as soon as we got to her house. I ended up shampooing & rinsing him 3 times...and still a smell lingered. As to the clothes I wore that day, a double wash didn't get rid of that smell, so into the garbage can they went.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Oh boy! Please treat this one better than the last one you had. Does this one have a name? Give him a bath...it may take several bathing to get rid of the smell. As another poster has said it may be his teeth...take him to the vet and have him checked. Good Luck and congrats on the new little one.

| I also agree that the smell could be coming from his mouth, it is always important to have a new dog taken to the vet as soon as possible. Maybe the orginal owners were not feeding this dog well, and that could be contributing to the smell. Their are a lot of very good pet shampoos and conditioners on the market, be sure to always brush and comb him after his bath and blow dry him on low heat without holding the dryer close to his body. Where did you adopt this dog? Did you ask the orginal owners about this dogs medical history? are about any problem behaviors? Is he fixed or spayed? or up to date with vaccines? The smell could also be from a infection coming from his ears. It is very important to get him to the vet as soon as possible. I hope this dog is a good experience for you, and easier for you to care for since he is not a puppy, but will still require a great amount of care and love from you. Make sure you keep this one safe as possible, and know what he is doing at all times. Not sure how you lost your first pup, but it did not look like you were very happy with the first one you had.

| Awwweee. She looks so sweet sleeping there. Yorkies do have a scent to them. Some people may think it stinks, but people like me don't mind it. I even like it if it's just the yorkie order your referring too. You sound irritated by it. I hope your not treating her bad. |

| I bathe mine at least one a week and what you might do is try a really good dog freshner or spray on conditioner in between baths. I would, like someone said, check her mouth to see if she might have some dental problems. The Tropical Gel is really good to get rid of tarter. Good luck and give this baby alot of love. |

| Awww AWWW she is a cutie. If you make a baking soda bath you could try that. Just don't get any in her eyes or let her drink that water. Then bath her with her shampoo and conditioner, they have a spray on conditioner that you leave on her after her bath. I use Mane N Tail leave on conditioner that is a spray, it is good for tangles to. It helps them from getting matted. they also sale a puppy perfume. I use Magic coat freshening spray it smells like baby powder. If she was with elderly people she will be more calm and quiet compared to a puppy. But you can still teach her to play and learn her trick's I like the other's said would get her vet checked she could have some bad teeth that is causing the odor. Enjoy your new puppy hoping she work's out for you. Yorkies just want love and to please their owner's. Have a good day. Anne/Luci |
