| Rant on dog food sizes Am I the only person who wishes all dog food had two pounds bags at least the ones made especially for small breeds? By the time Callie gets to the bottom of the bag its not as fresh no matter what I do to try and keep it that way but open a new bag and she eats more. It takes one small dog a long time to get through a 5 pound bag at least in my case.

| Amen! Especially since we started doing raw in the AM and kibble in the PM, it takes a while to get to the bottom of a bag...I can kinda tell that Toki's not very interested in the less-than-fresh food that is near the bottom of the bag so I just have to toss that small amount out. Kinda frustrating! |

| When I used to have only two babies....years ago!!!.....I used to take the bag and split it into about 5 equal amounts, and then I sealed them up in individual bags and sealed them up in my Seal-A-Meal bags.....I then froze the extra bags...they last forever and stay fresh that way! |

| They make nice storage containers for dog food. Here's a good one and it's BPA free! The Container Store > 5 lbs. Pet Food Container

| Yorkiemom1 How do you get my answers so often ? I have done the same for years. Doing that allows me to purchase huge bags when it is on sale. I freeze daily portions of meat, veggies etc in small zip lock bags. The smaller bags go inside a bigger freezer bag. It is so much easier than cooking from scratch every day.

| As much as I would love to have a golden I cant because my grandma has copd and yorkies are one of only a few breeds that work well with her. As much as I love dogs I do seem to be allergic to some more then others. Also I could not afford the care of another dog right now especially a big dog lol.

| I feed RC and LOVE the bags. I buy the 10lb bag & fill a glass jar on my counter at the beginning of each week, and then squeeze the air out of the bag, roll it up, and zipper it shut. It's fresh til the end.

Actually, I bought a used frige for almost nothing and it has lasted me going on 5 years now!!!....and it is for all the stuff I fix for the dogs....I also bought a freezer for almost nothing but a sweet smile, and while it is one of those chest type, it holds all the stuff I freeze for the dogs....I make newobrn formula if I have babies that need supplementing, I freeze it in ice cubes, then I take 5 ice cubes and freeze them in my Food-Saver (brand I have used for the last 12 years, and I LOVE it!!), all kinds of jerkey/dehydrated snacks, diced chicken for treats or if someone doesnt feel well, chicken broth ice cubes, diced veggies, etc.....
