| Carrots? Hello, I read somewhere that giving a yorkie a whole carrot to chew on is good for teething...my little Emma wants to chew on everything Anyone else give their yorkie puppy whole carrots? I was worried it might cause loose stools? Suzy |

| Yorkies can have carrots. Lots love baby carrots ! mine will only eat them cooked and mashed and warm If you are giving them raw, just as for infants, I would cut them into non- chokable pieces!! Depends on the level of spoilage I would presume

| I have tried giving Gracie whole carrots but she won't go for it. I guess she is spoiled because of all the baby carrots she is accustomed to getting. I really don't know how effective a carrot would be in cleaning the teeth though if your dog likes it I guess it can't hurt. Gracie loves her bully sticks and they are good for cleaning teeth though not for giving fresh breath. |

| I give Gracie 12" bully sticks and they are as big as she is! Yes, I have given her a whole carrot just to see if she would chew on it since she liked the baby carrots so much but it was a no go. She carried it into the living room and licked it a bit but no chewing. I really don't think either size of carrot would be effective for cleaning teeth. |

I am watching her close to make sure she don't choke...this is better then a chew toy! |

| My little lily loooovvves carrots the bigger the better!! She carries them around hides them under cushions and chomps away for ages. Lily has a very sensitive stomach however I have never found carrots to cause her any trouble. My vet actually told me that it is one of the best treats to give her along with sliced apple |

A cotton rope toy, wet it and put it in the freezer to make it cold...I've doused mine with a little garlic powder (not salt) to help the flavour An old wash cloth, rolled into a "rope" with a knot in the middle...wet and frozen again... Kong's filled with kibble (soaked in water until soft) and then stuffed and frozen My schnauzer also enjoyed turnip slices when she was teething...but I would often get "pieces" left all over my kitchen floor Best of luck... | |

| Toki loved cold baby carrots for her toofs when she was teething! She still likes them but I think they must be especially nice for a little sore mouth. I also gave her bully sticks which she LOVED but I prefer how her breath smelled after a carrot as opposed to a smoked bull penis haha |

Mine love carrots too, but they tend to put weight on Jada..as most everything does. So I give them very rarely.
