| Buddy Belt I was thinking about buying a buddy belt for my Banjo! He is 9 weeks old and I was wondering if a size one would be to big? I know they are some that has used them, also wondering what you think about them or do you have any other suggestions?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | How much does he weigh? That's more important than how old he is. They say you can double the 12 week weight or triple the 8 week weight to predict the adult weight give or take a pound. Personally, I’d wait until he’s around 6 months before I’d buy a buddy belt, they are kind of pricey and will last forever, so you want one that will fit him as an adult. I’d just get him an adjustable harness for now, like you can find at petsmart. These first few months they grow really fast!

| Full disclosure: I am a retailer of Buddy Belts. At 9 weeks, I agree with Nancy, wait....at least a little while. They grow sooo fast. Size depends on chest measurement and weight. Moving up 1 size the first year is worth it to me. Honestly, if I could go back to when Max was a puppy, I would have bought the Buddy Belt when we started walking. He would have required 2 his first year. I would buy the Classic colors, the least expensive. I paid $25.00 or more for a mesh harness at Petco that ended up putting pressure on his neck. The Classic Color BB Size 1 -2 are $35.90 - $39.90. You could re-sell it when your pup outgrows it. Hope that makes sense. I would wait until about 4 months of age.

| I would wait until he is full grown before buying a buddy belt. I would also be very careful if you are taking him for walks and stuff before he has all of his shots.

| Thanks, I do think I am going to wait on the buddy belt, I did look at the puppia harnesses! I have started walking him just a little in the evening, but I live way out in the country on a private driveway... not around any other dogs. Do you still think it is a little early, he has has some shots but not all.
