is there a way that we can get our 10 month old to stop chewing on the rugs. she flip them over and chew on the back side of some rugs and some she will just do the coner of them. we tell her stop chewing on it but she just don't listen to us. we do try and give her a toy to chew but she don't want it lot of the time she will just move it over to the side or acted like she want it to get us to leave her alone lot of the time.

When either of my pups tried to chew on anything that they shouldn't, I would say no and then give them something that they could chew safely. Some are more vigorous chewers than others and Priss is one, she is an avid chewer. Good luck and be persistent.

I have a 10 week old rug chewer myself. she mostly chews around the corners of the area rugs. I have lots of other things on the floor for chewing, but can't seem to keep her away from the rugs. I know how frustrating it is, but I guess just keeping saying (NO) and giving her something else to chew that tastes better then the rug!!!

I do say no to her and that don't work. there other things on the floor for her to chew on but she goes for the rugs a lot more when we are not in the room with her. she will chew on anything if she can get hold of.

Dexter likes chewing on anything cloth too. He had rawhide bones and rubber chew toys, but wanted cloth. He chewed up the sheet and comforter on my bed...made actual holes. He was sitting on my lap one day and I didn't even notice until I looked down and realized he had chewed a hole in one of my favorite shirts. If I wear capris, he will ches to little strings at the bottom of the legs. I finally went and got him stuffed animals and they seemed to help. If you do that, make sure they are stuffed toys MADE for dogs. I know som many people who buy kids stuffed animals for their dogs and the cloth and the stuffing may be very hazardous to the pups.

will she does have stuffed toys and she get whole in alo of them too. and a lot of the time I have to sew them back up so she can play with them longer. but I have to throw of toys out since they can't be fixed. and she try to get the sheet or whatever on the bed if we let her. but she go for the rug when we are not looking thats is when she is run around the house most of the day.

Try putting something she doesn't like the taste of on it like chilli powder. I used washing up liquid with one of my older dogs.

knowing her she would lick it off. she lick on just about anything that she can get her month on. but i don't know if we wanted to use chilli powder since I don't know what that would do to her. and too I thought that they couldn't have anything hot since it would brother them or make them sick. and too I don't think mom would want to use it either.

Make sure you are always in the same room with her - this will help. For times when you can't watch over her every move, block the access to rooms you do not want her in. I hate having to close the doors in my house, but I've learned to accept that if I don't want things destroyed

this is what I have to do.

we can't be in the same room all the time since she don't want to be in the kitchen when we are cooking. but just about every room in this house has rugs. and how can u block off the living room when u have to walk in there to the kitchen and the rug she does it more on is the one at the front door. but she has done some on the kitchen when she was going in there and she try to do the rugs in my parent room but mom get a hold of her before she does anything to it. but lot of the time she like to flord them over thats how we find the one in the living room and sometime the one in the other room when we even in there. but she is very senakey when she does all this.

we do say no to her and she just don't listen to that. but i do try to give her other toys that she can chew on when i see her do this all the time. but lot of the time she just don't want it. and sometime she just act like she want it to get us to leave her alone and she will just go right back to what she is doing.

Stuffed toys and rubber toys are not for chewing on they are for playing with. Get her some bully sticks. They are a meat product and dogs love them. It will keep her out of trouble. My dog was a chewer from the time she was a puppy but once we got her the bully sticks the problem stopped. Because they are a meat product dogs are very attracted to them and they last a very long time if you get the 12 inch size.

Joke. I'm not in the habit of feeding my dogs washing up liquid or chilli sorry must be the Brit sense of humour.

However strong smelling stuff can put them off like bitter lime dogs go with their sense of smell if it smells rank they won't eat it.

Joke. I'm not in the habit of feeding my dogs washing up liquid or chilli sorry must be the Brit sense of humour.

However strong smelling stuff can put them off like bitter lime dogs go with their sense of smell if it smells rank they won't eat it.

I can just picture your Littlies all frothing at the mouth....

I personally think the op just has to be VERY diligent....is someone at home most of the time?
