| Yorkie sitting on toys???!!!! Hey I just got a yorkie about 6 months ago! Her name is Ellie and I adore her! Just curious though she's been acting weird with her toys lately... She has a toy dog that is her favorite and it's her buddy. But recently she starting sitting on him as she was playing! She now is starting to do that to her ball and my foot! She will play bite, and then just keep sitting on whatever she is playing with! Does anyone know? Is she trying to show she's dominate or is this just how she plays or is she going into heat??? Just trying to understand my yorkie! |

| Kiko does this with her toys sometimes. I think it is hilarious. She looks like she is trying to hatch an egg. She is spade and has never been in heat, so at least in her case, definitely not related to being in heat. |

| All my pups will sit on my foot or back into me touching but facing away. I though it was their way of guarding me. I guess that is the same? My lasha will lay or sit on a toy...he is toy aggressive. Thank goodness only certain toys that he thinks are his. I say think..because with a yorkie as a little sister does he really own any toys

| Six months of age is typically when a dog goes into heat so she is either about to or is in heat no matter why she is sitting on the toy. Be sure to protect her. |

| Yogi has, from day 1, always needed to be sitting on someone when he's playing with his toys. Me, DH, one of the other kids. And if no one is available, he'll sit on a shoe or slipper. He's a total love bug, so I always just thought he wants to be near (very near ) his pack when he's playing. It's one of my favorite "Yogism".

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Dogs sit on feet as an indication of claiming territory or sometimes it’s just affection. It’s hard to precisely pin down why a dog does a certain behavior, but it’s their unique qualities that make us love them so! As long as it doesn’t cross over into overly protective or aggressive behavior, it isn’t an issue.
