Our Yorkie is agressive to visitors Our Yorkie is agressive when we have anybody visit, she follows them barking and growling at them. WE are so afraid that she is going to bite. What can we do to nip this in the bud?

Well, first I would advise you to get her under control. When someone comes put her harness and leash on and keep her by your side. If she makes an aggressive sound or movement give her a correction. Many times dogs that act like that are actually insecure and feel threatened. Make sure you stay with her and help to introduce her to the person so she realizes that they are not a threat. You may need to get her out to socialize more so she knows that other people are not a threat to her or her family. It is going to take time so be patient with her and don't let her out of your sight.

My adorable Maxie is like that... I was in complete denial of his behaviour... thinking that he bites only because he's tired; people bend over him; move too fast; etc., but I've had to come to realization that I have a biter, and I am struggling with the solution. He's a precious 6# 2 1/2 year old boy... so cute! But he turns into Cudjo when anyone comes into the yard or the house... he doesn't just nip... he tries to bite... hard! I love him so much I can't just give him away. But I'm at my wits end to figure out what to do with him. He came from a show home... caged until 15 months... didn't know how to deal with the outside... very shy... seemingly very frail... and then, after months of good nutrition and exercise, Cudjo appeared! Help!
