| Is your baby house trained? I've seemed to try everything and I can't even get him to pee on the puppy pad over half of the time. I need help, PLEASE! I'm so tired of cleaning up his deposits. |

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | Does Ryder have a crate? For max, crate training was the only way. If I took him out of the crate and he did not "go". I would put him back in his crate. He was fully trained at 6 months and would only have accidents every once in a while. Check out some of the other threads on here about potty training. There is a TON of info.

| Yes, he has a crate. I just feel so bad about putting him in there. Lol. I mean, he sleeps in it but that's about it. How often did you take him outside? |

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | Oh good. Don't feel bad. They really end up loving it. I would take him out of the crate and directly outside every hour when I was home. I would let him play for 20 minutes if he peed outside as a reward and put him back in the crate. Then repeat. Make sure the crate is only big enough for him to lay down. We had a divider and could't keep a blanket in there b/c he would pee on it and bury it. Consistency is key and if you take him out and he doesn't go then put him back in for a bit.

| How about getting an ex-pen for him so he'll have more room to move around with a potty pad and water in the area?

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | Since you have another dog, I bet he will catch on quickly if you are consistent. Also, you will want to watch him like a hawk when he is out of the crate so you can correct him immediately for going in the house. You don't have to rub his nose in it, but a firm "NO!" and taking him right outside or to the pee pad is good enough.

| Mine are trained to go on peepads, I literally put them in it and said go potty, go potty, go potty every 15 minutes. When I couldn't keep my eye on them for every second I put them in an xpen with their peepad and their bed. You have to be vigilant and you have to be consistent, it works you can't take your eyes off them when not in xpen within a couple weeks it works...(don't forget to give high praise and treats when they do go)..

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | An ex-pen is perfect for dogs whose owners need to leave for longer periods. My DH works from home so he was able to take him out all the time.

| I was lucky to have her goes to pee pad also. I wake her up in the morning and take her to pad and say "go potty"she likes pad on corner to hide. We are at hotel tonight with her first time and I lay few pads in corners and sure enough she picked one pad for potty spott I usually keep the same pad for next few times for potty so she has her smells on it so easy for her to go back to same pad. Try keep same pad that already has pee on? |

| Both my boys are housebroken. One was a severe marker. He wears a bly aka bad boy band when we go places. How often do you give him water how many potty breaks and have you tried scented pee pads along with stay away spray and totally cleaning his marking spots? Is he altered...seriously the bands make all the difference in going out but to truely break marking I had my bog leashed to me for 3the days so I could watch him so closely and guarentee catching him everytime...another 3year weeks of expanding his territory in the house without allowing him even opertunity to mark.

| hahaha, i had the same problem. so i used the teathering method. ziggy was always attahed to me by leash *and harness* so i would spot the signs and take him to his spot. we had accidents, as puppies this is expected, but it ended up fine. he's perfectly potty trained and has been for a while, he even will pee/poo on command because he knows what a named it "goo potty" so road trips and visits to other homes are all so stress free. It takes time but they do learn. hang in there
