| He rides upfront with me.. Am I a bad mom? I have always let Harley ride upfront with me and have really begun worrying about it. Am I a bad mom for letting him stay up there with me? I tried letting him ride in the back seat once and he pooped, puked and pee'd.. All within only 2 miles or so of my house.. I don't have a car seat for him bc my bf is almost always in the car with us too so I don't have the head rest part of the seat to attach it to. What do you guys think I should do?

| I don't think your bad by any means because that's exactly what I used to do. I don't really have any solutions for you except to say all it took was a friend of mine telling me to think about if I had an accident and he was unrestrained. He could possibly be killed by the air bag impact or worse get out of the car completely and be ran over because he was scared. I went out the next day and bought a seat as I didn't like the picture of either scene in my head. I really felt he would hate my new idea, but he loves it and it makes me feel much better traveling with him now.

I Love Thor Donating Member | THor rides in my lap. I have been meaning to get a carseat but for the mean time he is perfectly happy in the front. Although I do not think that it is safe, I have to admit to it. I am sorry that Harley had such a bad time!!! I would say that it is possible to make them ride in the back seat. (as you may or may not know, I live with my parents) and my dad is such a sucker to Thor. ANyways, Thor gets nice long walks from my dad, and on weekends he gets to go to Duke Forest, or other special places and he ALWAYS is made to ride in the back seat. He just knows that in that car that is wear he belongs! You might just have to have a "0 tolerance policy!!!!" GOod luck!! Hannah |

Would a console car seat work in your car? I have one, Gus loves it. He is right next to me...can put his head on my arm...but is nice and safe.

| I let both of mine ride in the front with me, Simply because if i put them in the back..they just walk right back up to the front.. So until i get a carseat there's no point!

| Lily rides on my lap and TOTALLY freaks out if she isn't on me. I think she would have an anixiety attack if she was forced to sit somewhere else.

| I have always had my girls right beside my leg as I drove. They would not have had it any other way. They never moved and just needed to be touching me. Dennis is my first male and I just bought him a car seat only because he is just to fidgety. I refuse to hook it to his collar because I am afraid that he might jump out and be hanging there, which could cause him to not only get hurt but might cause an accident. I would prefer he stay on my side, but he makes me hold him, so now he is at my shoulder in between the seats. So no, I don’t think you are a bad mom. I could not imagine putting any of my babies in the back seat. I never knew one yet that did not demand to be right at the ready! The car seat that I bought for Dennis works for him, though I feel my girls were safer right beside my leg as I drove. Sue |

| Joey rides in the front passenger seat with a harness/seatbelt made for dogs. Works out great for us! I like having him close to me and his doggie seatbelt prevents the possibility of him from becoming airborne in case of accident. My car is a newer model which means the passnger airbag won't inflate because it doesn't sense his weight. |

YT 5000 Club Member | I don't think you are a bad mom! Gidget rides up front with me but she doesn't get to go out a whole lot! I am planning on getting a carseat for her and Chloe though!

| I have a car seat that is raised up, so they can see outside the window.. now I have another yorkie so she sits under the car seat with her harness attached to the seat belt. But- when we are all together, (meaning my human family) the dogs are usually on our laps, with us holding them. |
