| Ticks!!!! AAARRGGGG!!!!!!! It was such a warm winter this year so I started treating my boys with Frontline in March! They are still getting ticks!!! I went home on lunch and there was something on the floor that they were sniffing. I went to pick it up but it was greasy like, slippery, so I got a paper towel and picked it up. It was a FULLY ENGORGED deer tick! Must have fallen off one of the dogs. Anyone use any brand of spectracide that they like? I need to spray the yard and put MORE frontline on the dogs! GGGRRRRRR I'm sooo frustrated and it's disgusting! Esp since the boys usually sneak into our bed and sleep with us at night!

| you need to use frontline plus...frontline does not repel ticks only frontline plus does. =*(()) i have been feeding my dogs flea treats...fleatreats.com and i have not found any ticks on him since we started using it and its all natural just a thought incase you prefer something less toxic to treat the babies for flea and ticks.

| oh I do use Frontline Plus.... it's supposed to repel ticks... Im just soooo grossed out by them, but Im also worried about my dogs. they do not get the Lymes vaccination and I don't want them to, but I'm thinking of considering it at this point. I mean the ticks are just terrible! Dex had Lyme's disease (well tested positive) last year and he was on meds for a month. I should have Fletch tested now and make sure he is ok. My poor babies! Maybe I'll switch to Advantix. Someone mentioned Brewer's yeast sprinkled on their food and Ive heard something about garlic. I used to buy these treats for them called Garlic bagels from Solid Gold. They liked them and I remember saying to my husband that they were not getting ticks while on them. uuggghh it's just sooo gross!

| Frontline does nothing for my girls. My vet has even stopped carrying it. I had good luck with Advantix. And I am using Vectra right now. Since I treated the yard and using the Vectra we have had minimal problems. It is going to be a bad year for critters. We have seen tons of spiders too. And snakes. I imagine fleas and ticks will be the same.

| Last summer, I gave my girls FleaTreats and used Vet's Best Flea and Tick spray (all natural) on them, their bedding, furniture, carpets, etc. After spending the summer in SW Louisiana, I ended up having to get capstar (Bella gets flea dermatitis) from the vet to get rid of the fleas. I continue to give them FleaTreats (which does contain brewers yeast), and use Vet's Best on furniture/carpet, but have decided to use 1/2 tube of K9 Advantix II on each of them this year (like you said, the winter didn't do much to kill off all the bugwuggies). I keep Bella and Tillie in long coat... those who keep furbabies hair short may have better luck with Flea Treats and Natural remedies alone

| Frontline does NOTHING for Jackson.... if anything, it seems that they attract ticks for us. Last year, for example, we put on K9 Advantix around June and then never applied anything else all summer... and no ticks that I ever found. I couldn't believe it. So then in October, I figured what the heck, I'll put on the Frontline that I have -- all the sudden, ticks galore! I thought it was just a coincidence... he got another dose of FL in December and suddenly... ticks back again! So yeah, we have to use K9 Advantix here and it doesn't bother me because I seem to have to not use it all that much; less chemicals the better! And no ticks yet *knock on wood*

| Mine are all on Revolution but it covers only dog ticks- Not deer ticks. I spray topical citronella based tick spray on them especially when I take them on hikes. I have an natural method for the yard. I put the cat and dog poop on the borders of my property especially at the woods tree line. No deer on yard = No deer ticks to worry about. I seems to work. I pull maybe 1-2 ticks off each yorkie a month during peak tick season but they really never leave my property unless to go for walks on pavement. Buddy goes all over the place with me so he has more exposures to tick rich areas. He gets 1 a week on average. He also does get Brewer's yeast and garlic daily- He is allergic to both fleas (highly) and ticks (mild to moderate).

| We tried Frontline Plus on our cats last year and the ticks seemed to thrive on it. They would come inside with fully engorged ticks on them! I was furious! I had to meet each one at the door with a flea comb and comb them out before they were allowed inside. I also had my trusty tick puller at hand for the ones I found that were already latched on. I only walk Gracie on the leash and we stay away from the tall grasses that the ticks like to hang out on so she never gets them. I always check just to make sure after a walk though. |
