| First time at the dog park! My DH and I took Winnie to the dog park today for the first time. At first i was a little apprehensive of taking her off the leash but once we got there and saw that they had a specific area for small dogs, which is great, we went straight there and off the leash went. Winnie did great, she just loved running around with the other dogs! Now she's just beat and has been sleeping when we got home. I'm so glad it went well, what a relief! hahah I will definatly be taking her again! )) Just wanted to share!

| We go to our local dog park about 2-3 times per week (weather permitting...). Almost all of our experiences have been good ones, but there have been a couple of incidents as some people do take unsocialized and aggressive dogs there (even small ones), so you always have to be cautious. There was one incident were a woman picked up her snappy dog (a boxer/something mix..not real small IMO...) and put it face to face with ZoE (who was standing on a bench at the time trying to get away from that same dog) and the dog snapped at ZoE's face. I went ballistic...and haven't seen that woman or her dog there since. Lately, the problem has been people taking large breed puppies in the small dog area. While the animal itself is about the same size as some of the bigger small dogs, the way they play jumping on backs of other dogs and bounding around has caused a few problems with tiny dog owners.
