| I need help with my new Yorkie! I have an 11 week old Yorkie. And he's in the process of teething and he just keeps wanting to bite my fingers and toes in stead of using his toy bone. Is that ok? What do you think I should do? Please help, I don't want him to get used to biting me or other ppl. Thanks. |

YT Addict | Rylee Belle did that as a puppy also. We used to say "No bite, kisses only" every time she did it and also put one of her stuffed toys in her mouth. She eventually got the idea and every time we said that she would stop immidiately and give us kisses!!!! She doesn't chew on us anymore but she still gives us kisses!!!! Congratulations on your new baby and welcome to YT!

| Absolutely no biting of any body parts. Just keep giving him other things to chew. The bully stick is awesome for teethers. There is also the kong, nyla bones and such. Oh and welcome to Yorkie Talk!

| Just firmly tell him no bite and give him a toy to chew on. They learn quickly. |

| I agree with everyone here! I am new yorkie mom but what I have read, was told and worked for us was the fact that you should never let them bite on skin. When Sheldon is trying to chew or bite my fingers I say "nice" in a firm voice and he licks instead. They are pretty smart and they figure out very quickly. Nylabone has this little teething bones for puppies that you can put in the freezer. Sheldon loved them when he was teething, I would give it to him and he would run to his crate and chew away. Good luck with your puppy. |

| Abby is very good about chewing the nylabones and braided fleece strips I made- I bought 2 puppypaks of nylabone and put them every place we played with her (tables, pockets, couch)- as soon as she nibbled our fingers we popped a nylabone in her mouth! It didn't take long for her to learn. She is 10 months and would not consider putting her teeth on us now. |
