| Bentley HATES my boyfriend! Help! Hi everyone!! I just brought home my 4mo. old baby Bentley about a week ago. He was very shy at first but I have spent everyday with him and he has grown very attached to his new mommy!. He wants to follow me everywhere, and loves snuggling and playing with me! The problem is, he hates my boyfriend. We live together but he goes off to work every morning and only sees Bentley after he comes home. He feeds Bentley in the mornings at try to play with him before and after work but Bentley just barks and runs away.... to me! Bentley won't give him the time of day, and my boyfriend is totally heartbroken! Bentley is okay with my other male friends, but not my boyfriend. Does anyone have any advice? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | It's only been a week, so if I were you I'd cherish the time Bentley spends snuggling with you and not panic about the relationship with your boyfriend. It will improve as Bentley becomes more familiar with his surroundings and with him. If it doesn't improve, dump the boyfriend and get another Yorkie.

| LOL!!! Could your pup possibly be a little jealous of your boyfriend because when he comes home your attention is divided??? Just a thought....

| I love the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Milan. He has a couple of episodes about this. You need to intervene and make him stop it. I think the bf needs to be sure he is pack leader over Bentley. Pick him up and make him stop biting. Use his hand to make a little dog mouth and lay Bentley down (kinda like mom does to her kids). Do not be afraid of him and do not let Bentley have his way here. It is a big NO-NO! Do not give it time, 'nip it in the bud' as Barney Fife (Andy Griffith Show) says. Good Luck!

| Bentley is being a typical boy and being very clingy of his mommy. Nikko is the same way, he prefers me over my fiancee. If my fiancee leans in to give me a kiss while we are on the couch, Nikko jumps right in and wiggles his face in the middle and licks me first!! When I am not home, they bond though and Nikko loves his daddy, he just prefers mommy. I think your bf and Bentley need some guy time alone to bond. Give it some time, I am sure Bentley will open up to your bf.

| Be thankful that Bentley is like that I have 2 little girl yorkies, Chloe and Daisy and they are very attached to their dad. They sleep in our bed at night and where do you think they are cuddled right up next to their daddy, it makes me jealous but they cuddle with me sometimes too.

| This weekend, I'd let your boyfriend take over completely with Bentley. Let him feed him, play with him and you stay away or just keep handing him over to your boyfriend so that Benley learns that BOTH of you take care of him. He's just being a little pill because he can be. The problem with Yorkies is they are smarter at manipulating us than kids are...... LOL
